Not a smart move at all, because Cotto would not only beat Pacquaio but he would beat him up and stop him. Mayweather wouldn't beat Pacquaio up, he would just out box him over the distance and the fight would actually be somewhat close. Manny is not going the distance with Cotto. Too big, too strong, too fast and too hard of a puncher.

And he refuses to call Floyd out. Remember he leaves it ALL to Arum to pick his opponents. Even JMM had the balls to call Floyd out!! Be honest with yourself. Cotto doesnt want any part of Floyd, its his fans that want him to fight FMJ.
You never heard Floyd say,( Cotto fights for Arum and he would need to own his own promotional company first, promote himself like I do and make a name for himself?) When Cotto was selling double more tickets then Mayweather was or ever will on his own?

They want straight forward fighters period and there is going to have to come a time where Pacquiao has to fight a pure boxer. When this time comes, he is going to have to win clearly, unlike the Marquez bouts. Otherwise this point will always be brought up by critics untill then.

I think the reason why they don't want Pacquiao to fight pure boxers is because he will have to take risks in order to find these opponents. That would be okay if he were still fighting at 130 where he is the stronger man and can take punches better. However if he has to go searching for an opponent in the ring he will leave himself open and now that he fights the big guys his physical disadvantages may show up. In his last three fights his physical strength hasn't been tested and won't be severely tested until he fights a boxer. Despite this I still think he looked very weak in the holds compared to Hatton and even looked uncomfortable times. Hatton landed one right hand which backed Pacquiao up and while it didn't hurt Manny he seemed surprised at the power in the shot. The more risks he take the more punishment he will take and against come forward fighters he doesn't have to take these risks as he can pick them off when they come in and fight the small mans fight. One could argue that pressure fighters are going to test his strength more than a boxer but that's only if they can walk through his punches. Roach obviously feels that with Pacquiao's speed and power Cotto won't be able to walk through his punches and therefore Pacquiao's strength and size won't be tested too much. However if he fights someone like Margarito, he will be able to walk through him and this is where Pacquiao may be exposed at the higher weights. I feel Roach sees the Cotto fight, while more difficult, similar to the Hatton fight. So basically, I think Roach is keeping Manny away from pure boxers and huge pressure fighters, so that his size and strength is not exposed at the higher weights.

whoever his next opponent is, pacquiao should win, otherwise his not getting any vote in the election next year. lol...or is it the other way around?cuz if he keeps on winning, his people might want him keep on boxing further. oh s**t, pacquiao might lose his next fight.

i think people like most of yaw are getting way ahead of things, 1st of all Floyd "Needs Money" Mayweather needs to get passed JMM and i dnt see that happening, Marquez is looking to get a 3td bout with pacquiao and thats whats going to happen. Need Money aint all that, honestly who has he beatn? washed up dlh, who i thought won the fight, hatton, who the *** is hatton, castillo beat him the 1st time they fought to me thats not p4p king, Maquez in the other hand has fought the best and WE cant deny that, I agree that pac is the P4P right now, but needs to decisevly beat Marquez which he hasnt done yet.
