Joe Calzaghe aint destroying ****, he might beat dawson, but dawson has the style to give him real problems, if its such an easy legacy fight, why doesn't Joe come out of retirement and whoop chad?

Oh yeah, its a foregone conclusion he would win, so no need to see the fight happen

    Excuses Excuses.

Chad Dawson has superb footwork, can punch going backwards and forwards, lands great combination's, good defense, and the stamina to fight for 12.

And yes I thought Johnson beat Dawson, but at least dawson got in the ring with him (unlike joe who pulled out of a fight with him more than once) and Joe calzaghe is not relentless like Glen Johnson, different styles.

        Calzgahe ain't coming back.

Dawson's too high risk/low reward to tempt Calzaghe out of retirement.

He maybe a very good fighter but in all fairness to Calzaghe, temptation of money is all that's going to bring him out of retirement. Dawson wouldn't get enough money to fight Calzaghe even if the purse was split 99-1 so it's definately not happening.

Calzaghe's got enough money to retire on and I don't think he's coming back.

Money, or lack of it, mostly, as has already been said. But it's no 'legacy' fight, not at present. The moment Dawson gets beaten he's just another LHW, just as Lacy became just another SMW. There's just not enough in the fight to get Calzaghe out of bed, let alone into the gym.

              How does that work out?

Did lacy beat Glen Johnson and the current Cruiserweight champion prior to a fight with calzaghe?

If manfredo calls out calzaghe he'll probably get out bed then right?

His best win arguably is Kessler, who has fought nobody but calzaghe,

So dawson would add to his resume no question.

To be fair, Dawson's done a lot more to be deserving of a shot at Calzaghe then Lacy did IMO.

It works out because 'legacy' is about names. At the moment, I'm sorry, but Dawson just doesn't have a big enough profile. If he did, the money would follow along. Sure, Calzaghe's resume would look better with Chad's scalp on it, but better enough to justify coming back from retirement for a fight I agree is quite loseable (although I would pick Joe by wide UD)? No way.. maybe if Dawson had another belt or two, a few more defences agent quality challengers, or a couple of wins over the likes of B-Hop and Pavlik.

Think about it... I'm not directly comparing the two, by any means, but why is PBF coming back? To fight someone who might improve his 'legacy' a little? No, to fight JMM and then Pacquiao in one of the biggest money fights in the history of the sport. And a win over Pacquiao (or Mayweather) IS a true 'legacy' fight. Offer Calzaghe something vaguely similar and he might put away his golf clubs for six months. Who knows, maybe in 18 months Dawson could do that.

I wouldn't argue with you. I would point out, though, that 'deserving' or not has nothing to do with whether this fight would happen.
