Theres always someone out there to fight, but if a boxer looks at it that way he will never retire. So even if Dawson looked impresive its was o.k for Calzaghe to retire.

I think that performance just assured everyone that Calzaghe basically did the right thing in retiring, Dawson was no threat to him and it would have been a pointless schooling

yeah imo dawson woulda just been outpointed by calz and a waste rof a night 4 him because they woulda cam eup with sum1 els that very same night he shulda fought

Yeah the Roy Jones Jr. fight was a great choice, best for boxing and legacy at the same time...Roy looked better against Tito than Chad against Tarver..ayy...

Wouldn't have been pointless, he would have taken an 0 from another fighter. Whats wrong with beating figthers who are undefeated? Plus Dawson had names like Adamek and Johnson under his resume. The same Johnson people say Calzaghe ducked...

Wow you people are really on Calzaghes nut suck.. What a bunch of Stans.. Because he didnt knock Tarver out that means that Calzaghe would of whipped Dawson? What kind of ******ness is that? For one Calzaghe doesnt have the power to hurt Dawson.. Tarver does.. Dawson wouldnt respect Calzaghe at all. The advantages that Calzaghe held over the fighters he has been fighting is hand speed and quickness.. They're both negated fighting Dawson. Plus Dawson is a southpaw like Calzaghe. Dawson would whip Calzaghes ass plain and simple. You are just a bunch of nuthuggers.
