Sorry, it wasn't George, it was Erdei, Johnson, Gonzalez, and Woods. Here's the article from ESB:
Gonzalez and Woods are done, they'd be right there for Shumenov to tee off on. Erdei has never been a dangerous fighter, and Johnson has shown some slippage in recent fights.
I'm thinking of buying a billboard in Times Square with a number where guys can call to fight Shaun George. Nobody calls us out, nobody.
That's a little absurd, Shumenov is a good fighter. I'm not the one who signs the contracts in Team George but I'm close to the operations and would have known if any contact had been established. That'd be a great fight for Shaun but I haven't seen any letters. If they really want the fight, Donna Duva-Brooks and Lou Dibella are not that hard to reach.
With all due respect, George sucks, he knocked out Chris Byrds skeleton and all of a sudden hes good. He gets nothing from me.
Well it seemed tonight like HBO was pushing for that fight since they declared besides that fight there is nothing there, they need to make good fights for Dawson. I'm pretty sure Gary Shaw will try to keep fighting the Epifanio Mendoza's and Jesus Ruiz type fight but HBO will put pressure to make good fights. The boxing business has changed the last few years where we ain't getting all the bull**** mandatory/no-hopers that made boxing a little stale.
Gary Shaw seems to have a lot more influence over Showtime than HBO. Showtime would air anything Gary Shaw put up because frankly, he runs boxing.
I disagree about there being no good fights out there for Dawson because my boy Shaun George wants that fight, then you have a Johnson rematch, his mandatory Tavoris Cloud. Undefeated fighters are usually the biggest duckers though because their whole iden****** and worth as fighters are tied to that 0.

Maybe theyre busy calling out less known and smaller draws like Calzaghe and Hopkins. Nobody would risk their careers againt the Sugar Ray Robinson of light heavyweights.

HBO just needs to put Fighters like George vs Cloud on the undercards of Dawson to build up the fights. That would be a good fight to determine who gets a shot at Dawson, HBO should make it happen.
Paul Williams is very entertaining, and he's nothing like Corey Spinks.
Williams is focused of offense and initiating the action.
He also has below average punching power for a guy who is almost twice the size of all his opponents. He's a nice guy and all but for all his offinse he never really beats the **** out of anyone which has frustrated me to no end.
He throws all these punches and all but most of the time he just outclases the other guy which isn't thast exciting.

They are actually still very good opponents for someone with only 7 pro fights (8 after today).
Shumenov is his own promoter, and is backed by an oil-rich businessman. He was able to get Mitchell for today's fight because they pay very well.
