morales didnt duck marquez, marquez asked too much money when erik wanted him...not to say marquez outpriced himself though, nacjo was just a delusional promoter...

Good post, it made a lot of good points. I think his last 2 wins were somewhat impressive though. Cassamayor is upper tier and has only lost to very good fighters. Diaz was only a one loss fighter although he was schooled by Campbell.

But I agree with the TS that no one can really make a legitamite argument for Marquez being number one at this point, but I think that's because Pacquiao, in my mind, clearly beat him in their second fight.
That girl has NO ASS, shame on you for that sig bro.

Yeah you can say that as well. However because we don’t have an in-depth look of the life Juan Manuel (just Count Down’s and 24/7’s). We can't really lay a harsh judgment.

I can assure you that there are many hungry contenders, and it’s a dream to just make it into the spot light and gain a championship belt. But the in road of boxing you face more then just the opponent. The boxing politics, ring circus, promotional promises etc…

Point is, we simply cant take what the mass media spoon feeds us. Try to look into, who this sport is really managed, and you find out that its riddled with vast complexities.

I like JMM as a fighter. Has very good overall skills. But besides the pacquiao fight, i think that his biggest fights are the casamayor and juan diaz. Casamayor got a gift decision in the santa cruz fight, and barely beat katsidis. While diaz also lost to campbell. And both fights were very close as well. But he is still definitely should be in the 5.

                Ah thanks.

I think Juan understands better then any of us. That in order to make one last stand. Something to direct interest, for the few years left in his carrier. He has to do something as drastic, as go up another weight class and call out another Elite. Not title holder David Diaz, not a Dehydrated Part time Boxer Oscar, and not a one dimensional boxer Ricky Hatton. He has to call out, Floyd. Look he took on Manny and lost by split decision. That eats you up inside. He fought a masterful counter puncher, and beat him in his own game. But he is also past his prime. He took on a young and hunger LW champion, a former 3 time world champion. While respectable showings, they do not guarantee big pay checks, sufficient credentials.

And he understands better then any of us, who he called out, what he is up against, and what the stakes are. Victory…no just an over all well performance will be enough to draw the attention of the masses, and the media.

Otherwise, I ask you this. What would you do if you where in Juans shoes? Sometimes you just have to take that kind of risk. B-Hop took on Trinidad, Mosley took on Margarito. Juan will take on, Floyd for the same reasons.

Marquez is a warrior and will give money a hell of a fight, no way he gets schooled or ko'd.

honestly i think marquez was a late bloomer in the boxing game.....
to me he is more tenqnical fighter than barrera and morales..... and trust me am a big morales fan...
marquez is the best counter/tecqnical fighter out right now... and yes am 1 of those that think marquez did enuff to win that 2nd fight
marquez just doin what he can while he can... he is 36 we all know that...
goin in with mayweather.... if quite hard 4 me 2 see marquez go into
