Floyd Mayweather Jr is Manny Pacquio's nightmare.

Guys the only people to beat Pac or come close to beating him have had extremely good boxing skills. Floyd has the best boxing skills of any modern fighter.

And I'm in no way dissing Pac, I'm a huge fan and his boxing skills are underrated. But, and this is key, stylistically speaking Floyd is perfectly set up to beat Pac.

Floyd Jr is an extremely good counter puncher, JMM had great success against Pac when he started to time his punches. Expect Floyd to lose the first few rounds, Pac's aggression and workrate will have him in an early lead. But as we've seen on countless occasions before, Floyd will use his defense to hang in there and eventually he will start to counter punch effectively.

Floyd's defense is insane, I don't think enough people realise how hard it is to actually land a punch on Floyd. He works in the pocket like no other, he has an ability to make you miss by millimeters, punches that some onlookers deem to have landed in fact graze off his shoulders, gloves or even sometimes over the top of his head.

There has been a lot of talk about size in the possibility of this fight, size won't matter as much as strength. Floyd has the edge in strength, he proved against Hatton and De La Hoya (at a higher weight than Pac) that he can out wrestle bigger opponents.

Pac's only chance is if he can trick Floyd into moving and covering up by using feints and head movement. If Pac can do this he may be able to land enough to hurt or stop Floyd. If this fight goes to the judges Floyd wins.

I have always rooted for Pac, and I believe I still will when these two meet, but my boxing brain leaves me with no doubt who will win.

I don't agree one bit, I think that Pacquiao will win, and put Floyd on his arse more than once!

Funny because Mayweather has only fought mostly brawlers who don't even know what the word defense means. Pacquiao and Marquez know what defense is, and its ashame Marquez is going to be too small for Floyd just like Floyd has already said.

The only thing that worries me.. is the shoulder roll isnt as effective against southpaws...

and a southpaw like pacman, with ridiculous movement.. handspeed that is just as fast as floyds, legs that are just as fast as floyd.. and FAST straight lefts, could really give floyd problems... I cant wait to see this fight.

A fighter who hand picks his resume to protect his 0. A fighter who fights at 147 and avoids all the challenges at 147 like Cotto, Margacheato(before everyone knew he was a cheater), Mosley, and williams(when williams fought at 147)

Pacquiao has a good chance, if just because he has Roach making up a gameplan. Every fighter has a weakness and there is no one better, save perhaps Nazeem Richardson at exposing them. It will have to be spot on to beat Mayweather of course, but it could happen.

I still say however, that the fighter out there best equipped to beat Mayweather is Cotto. It's a shame he'll probably never get a chance, because I think Pacquiao will beat him. As the cliche goes, styles make fights and I feel Cotto would be a nightmare for Mayweather.
