if we go by past PPV numbers (Pac-Hatton not yet included), then it's mayweather. but if we go for popularity, i believe pac is far more popular than floyd worldwide and probably even in the us. look at the amount of media coverage (tv, radio, print, internet) that pac has generated this past two weeks.

damn, i havent seen that kind of coverage given to a boxer before and after a fight since mike tyson. i even saw on cnn and bbc that they featured pac or mentioned pac on their news several times these past two weeks and i dont even watch cnn/bbc everyday.

the amount of buzz that pac generated even to casual and non-boxing fans is tremendous. so in terms of potential, pac is miles ahead of floyd.

Pacquiao is the biggest star in boxing. The poll question is only even relevant to the US; everywhere it's Pacquiao by landslide at the moment.

            Gatti,ODLH, Hatton, and Pacman

All these guys were the guys who put asses to the seats and not Floyd Mayweather. I would say Floyd did a fraction of what any of these guys do. People don't like Floyd and his style is not appealing considering he is a defensive technician who insists on pot shotting and counter punching and using his footwork. So lets get real between Pacman and Floyd...Pacman will sells the fight due to his fame and Floyd sells the fight through his bad boy image but the real star is Manny.

the threads question is who is the bigger draw, not who do you think is more popular, not who has more fans or who has the most potential and if manny is so popular why can't he out sell floyd?

If people are willing to pay to see you lose you can generate a large ammountof PPV buys without actually putting asses in seat (pepople might not want to travel to see him get beat, but they will tune in on PPV to see him get knocked out, and that is the biggest part of being able to draw, PPV is the largest part of any big fights revenue pie)1.

People get overly caught up because Floyd only has so many people that like him, that number is heavily augmented buy those that hate him and they are just as passionate about seeing him fight (for different reasons) as his fans~. You can not discount this part of Floyd's drawing power.

I think up until and including may 2nd, mayweather was the bigger draw. the very instant pacquiao ko'd hatton, he became the bigger draw.

the buzz after the pac-hatton fight was far greater than after the dlh-mayweather fight. I heard mention of that ko not just on sports news networks, but on NBA halftime shows and on the NFL network.

No matter who pac steps into the ring with for his next fight, I guarantee he gets 1 million ppv buys.

i believe that i answered that by saying it was floyd it we go by past ppv numbers, minus pac-hatton fight. but those pbf fights were before the economy became bad. im just saying that pac is much more popular than floyd and if we go with that train of thoughts, there is a tremendous potential that pac would be able to outsell floyd's fights in the future.

this is assumptions, the facts are floyd sells more than manny so i guess the hate for someone makes more money than the love for someone
