Why did Hatton not have a rematch clause in the contract?

Seems like standard procedure in a fight like this.

guess Pacquiao was holding the chips

i doubt Pac would wanna tie too much of his time up on Hatton either, the fight seemed like a small detour in the first place just to add to his title collection and make some big bucks at the same time

Ricky also seemed pretty damn confident he would win so perhaps he didn't even consider that or think it was important

I wonder if it was even proposed?

          That's a good possibility.

I realize that. I'm just curious why he didn't try to negotiate a rematch clause though. Jermain Taylor did for his fight against Pavlik. Wlad has two against Haye.

? Sure there is a point. It would have protected Hatton's ass and gave him a chance to reclaim his belt. It's definitely not gonna happen now but it would have been wise for Hatton to push for it. $$$ and a chance to get his belt back.
