I didn't know that. So boxers have gone on to MMA and did well.

Has there ever been any MMAer who had relative success in boxing?

Pulver had a few pro bouts, his style is very obviously boxing-based. Gomi was originally a pure wrestler but added the technical boxing later on when he saw his current style had reached its limit. The two fought, you can probably find the bout online - it was roughly 90% boxing only.

As for MMA fighters in boxing, Vitor Belfort KTFO out some journeyman, the guy has fast hands, have to give him that

So only Pulver was a pro-boxer who competed in MMA after and had considerable success. If this is a fact, how come Rogan always bitches about boxers not having a chance with MMA fighters but never vice versa?

Beating a journeyman is not exactly a success. More of a sideshow than anything else. I'm sure Mark Gastineau, the ex-nfler, had beaten a journeyman in his brief boxing career.

Jeramy Williams(the one Sam peter Knocked out) and KJ Noons are both in MMA and KJ Noons actually was a middleweight contender in Elite XC before it folded. I think KJ fights for Strikeforce now and you can see him on Showtime now and again.

Williams can be seen as a trainer on MTV's Bully Beat Down.

This whole argument is ******. If you knew anything about either sport, you would realize how dumb talking about this really is.

Striking in boxing and MMA are TOTALLY different.....

What they teach in MMA, are big NO-NO'S in boxing and vice versa.

Yes it's about boxers or MMA fighters crossing over and the success they have had or lack of success.

The reason I said what I said and I will explaine it to you is because boxing is something that takes a lifetime to learn, same with any other martial art.

Either will have some level of success but it will be limited for the most part. Because the two are so different and what you are taught to do in either contradicts what you are taught to do in the other.

So, having these types of conversations are ........******.

I have sparred with pro mma fighters in my gym and have never been bested in pure boxing. I would never spar with kicks, elbows and grappling because I wouldn't last.

You have to be dedicated 100% in one or the other to do well. No mma fighter or boxer can just jump in and do well, you have a punchers chance but that's about it.

                  .
No it's about the double standard that MMA fans or writers who always whine about a boxer possibly getting killed in MMA but never talk about how an MMA fighter would do in boxing. That's what the argument is about. It's not about who crosses over.

Well it's round about the same thing. It's just dumb to suggest anything like that, whether by writers or by the fans.

It would be like me talking about who would win in a race, a stock car or indy car. Why one doesn't get the recognition or vice versa...

You still don't get it. It's not about who wins, apples or oranges. I don't get into that. I'm not arguing who is the better fighter, I'm arguing about the double standard, period. Do you even know what a double standard is.
