Boxers to MMA, MMAers to Boxing Double Standard

I can't stand it when MMA fans mention the fact that no boxers have had successful careers in MMA.

Imagine if it was the other way around. MMAers wouldn't last a round with boxers, and that's just in sparring.

The power and the speed will just completely overwhelm MMAers. MMA fighters are one of the slowest strikers in the fighting game.

Of cos boxers will win in a boxong match... but MMAers will more likely like in a FIGHT. Boxers are better BOXERS, not fighters. By the way, i love both sports

most mma fights end in a girl punch, so go figure a boxer would have more chance in the cage than the other way round. look at butterbean hes beat alot of guys in the cage and in the boxing world he is a joke

I'm not knocking MMA, I'm knocking the double standard which the MMA fans keep bringing up if a boxer steps in "the OCTAGON" (Ooohh scary!) but they never talk about what happens if an MMAer steps in the squared circle.

Ray Mercer is 48 years old, no notable boxer has gone to MMA.

That's the whole point. They're knocking a 48 year old fighter for going into MMA but no one from MMA, I think, has ever stepped in the ring with a boxer.

                  Double Standard.

There have been a few pro-boxing based MMA fighters who have had a degree of success, primarily Jens Pulver. Takanori Gomi in his prime had maybe the best all around hands, but he fell in love with his power and his career fell off a cliff.
