That would be a good match up in fight night 4. Pernell is in the game. Right now I would take Pernell but Manny's career isn't over yet.

      Pernell by UD.

I love Manny but Pernell was just the defensive master. He would be making Manny miss all night and landing precise counters. Plus Pernell had one hell of a chin so he would be able to stand up to whatever Manny was able to land. Pacquiao might win a few rounds, but I can't see him landing on Pea enough to get it done.

Pernell's a welterweight and with that defense Pac's head would be spinning. Great jab, footwork, difficult to hit clean...

Is this some type of joke?
Seriously.. Pernell Would absolutely embarrase Pac..
          Wide UD..
If JMM can almost beat Pacman (i thought he won the first fight), then Pernell would just make him look silly..
You have to watch Sweat Pea fights, hes just a boxing master.. the best pure boxer ive seen..

Whitaker's defense would be too good and his jab should be able to control Pacquiao, Pacquiao's speed would give him trouble early though, Whitaker by competitive decision.

I don't see Pernell as a WW. He was able to be effective at the weight sure but IMO he was without a doubt a natural 135 pounder. He was certainly at his absolute best at that weight.

True, he did beat McGirt for the title though, and a few other pretty good fighters but yeah 135 is where its at.

I know he beat McGirt, and they were great wins, but he was never as dominant at 147 as he was in his prime at 135. Watching Pernell at 135 can be intimidating. He was just that good.
