You said it yourself. Mayweather likes to play the bad boy image and sometimes acts like a good guy. Before the fight he 's a badd ass then after the fight he's not. Sometimes giving a fighter his due respect, but only after he beats him. Not a bad thing, but its hard for anyone to buy into anything he does when it all looks like an act. So he turns out to look more like a childish adult acting ******.

Bernard Hopkins plays the same game, but he's alot more convincing. Mayweathers is smart for a boxer, but it doesn't mean he's a smart person. I seen computer geeks that know about computer, but when it comes to interacting with people they look like they're reading off a book.
