You said it yourself. Mayweather likes to play the bad boy image and sometimes acts like a good guy. Before the fight he 's a badd ass then after the fight he's not. Sometimes giving a fighter his due respect, but only after he beats him. Not a bad thing, but its hard for anyone to buy into anything he does when it all looks like an act. So he turns out to look more like a childish adult acting ******.

Bernard Hopkins plays the same game, but he's alot more convincing. Mayweathers is smart for a boxer, but it doesn't mean he's a smart person. I seen computer geeks that know about computer, but when it comes to interacting with people they look like they're reading off a book.

The main difference is that Haye's tactics are mind games, and they're more insightful than simply saying "I'm the king, I'm better than you, I don't like you, I'm going to beat you and that's it." Haye's t-shirt was a great ploy to get into Wlad's head, and Hopkins' tactics, though sometimes taking it too far (white boy comment) are used in the same way. Floyd simply says he's better and has a sense of entitlement like he's owed something.

I'm not trying to be a hater, I just don't understand why, if many people agree that it's not really him in that act, why can't be leave that **** alone? He could at least be a bit more slick about the way he trash talks instead of saying "You won't do ****, I'll **** you up" and so forth.

Arum is ludicrous if he doesn't make this fight happen.
Arum isn't THAT ******. He knew the money to be made from Pacquiao-Hatton which is why he talked to Manny after the negotiations started falling through and told him it was ridiculous.

Mayweather-Pacquiao has the potential to be the BIGGEST fight of the past 20 years, if not even more perhaps. It can definitely outsell De La Hoya-Mayweather if it's promoted the way I believe it will be.

But the more I've been thinking about it lately, I just cannot stand the thug, bad boy image that he tries to portray. When you see him doing interviews sometimes, he presents himself as very well mannered and nice, like when he went to the doctor's office in the 24/7 with Oscar. But then he comes to the Marquez press conference just acting like a disrespectful little ****, and it completely gives you a different opinion of him all together.

Marquez and Pacquiao both are very respectful guys who take care of their business in the ring and let their performances speak for themselves. And as great of a fighter as Floyd is, I don't think I can root for him against either man, especially Manny, simply because of his attitude. It's a shame, too, he could have been even bigger than De La Hoya in terms of drawing power were he a much nicer person, as Arum has said numerous times. He would have been the new, if not improved, Sugar Ray Leonard.

          It's too bad, really...
yeah I love floyd in the ring but his demeanor could be a little more classy.

I kinda feel bad for jmm, and I might cheer him on as an underdog. jmm can't win though.

And no Floyd's style wouldn't appeal enough to make him the new DLH or Leonard...at least not in my opinion...
Floyd was saying things to Oscar, just about how he didn't like him as a person, but he likes him because he makes him money. I mean, keep that to yourself man, we know you guys might not be best buddies, but to just say somethin g like that in public, saying "hey man, you make me money so I talk to you", that's just disrespectful, I think.

And his whole attitude was just very disrespectful, the whole "I'm back, and I have a sense of entitlement over everyone else" type ****, I just don't like it. He's such a good fighter, but he's making it harder to cheer for him based simply on that.

I agree with you. I hate his thug image because I know that is not who he really is. I hate to take issue with you, but that thug image is what has made him a superstar. It certainly wasn't because of Bob Arum promoting skills. Arum doesn't care about anyone except his Latino fighters. If you don't believe that, go back and look at the case of Zahir Raheem, who beat Erik Morales. If Floyd did not display that thug image, he would have never gotten the fight against De La Hoya, wouldn't have made as much money as he did against Hatton and wouldn't be chased by every boxer from 135 to 154 right now. Mayweather is no different than a professional wrestler. He puts on an act to create a persona that will make him money. And just as Hulk Hogan revitalized his career and made millions by turning into a heel in the ring, Mayweather is making millions by being a heel when it comes to boxing.

Well Floyd's bitter against Oscar and a bit jealous of his popularity. Your right he did disrespect Oscar. That's part of his character. If he became a nice guy durin buildups he would look even more phony now.

Hey you must say he didn't really disrespect Marquez. I think he called him a little man. That's pretty much it...

Man that shouldn't bother you! "The more they hate you, the more they pay to see you"

Are we going on a date with Lil Floyd?

I love reading post like this on Boxing and MMA Forums, two of the most brutal sports where people get into a ring and bash each others head, yet people get bothered when someone doesnt have class.
