I'm not even going to talk about the potential of fighting cotto and marquez/mayweather winner. Plus everything else he has accomplished.

Further, I wouldn't mind him taking an "easy" fight to stay active as he waits to fight Mayweather/Marquez winner. Sure, kick chavez jr.'s ass just as long as he gets marquez or mayweather I'm happy

Freddie Roach took that gamble based on history. It's also why Freddie is telling Floyd, Shane, and Cotto to come down in weight. Freddie is smart but he is an ******* who wants his fighter to have a big advantage when the fight starts. He wants the opponent to be either shot, or weight-drained by fight-time. Fight them at 147 when they are healthy. It's easier to move up in weight then down. At least if you move up, you can show up at any weight where you feel healthy. Take Floyd for example: when he fought Oscar, he didn't show up like a JrMW would...why? because it would have slowed him down so he decided to come in at his normal fighting weight as usual.

    That's Freddie.

I would only say that the type of fighters he's been placed with in his past fights are come forward aggression types. I would like to see him in there with a technician like Mayweather or Marquez(again) maybe even Cotto, but seriously Cotto draining to make a catch weight? Will be like DLH all over again...

My problem is that the thread starter says the Manny has been protected but he picked 5 out of 6 of Manny's opponents, Barrera, Morales, JMM, ODLH and Hatton, to win the fight, which means the poster, himself, does not believe that Manny is superior to these fighters, thus making him a fighter who takes alot of risk and hardly being protected at all.

I believe Manny was only the favourite in 2 of these fights, against Diaz and Hatton. How could a protected fighter be an underdog, 4 out of 6 times?

          It doesn't make sense.

All the other were either past glory or were never considered "a" level fighters.

                Pacman vs. :

Hatton(almost got tko by lazcano, unknown fighter), one-sided, whooping.
                Dlh(dehydrated), one sided.
D.diaz(poor guy was a moving punching bag for pacman), one-sided
morales(last 2 fights, last one was no competition for pacman)
                barrera(fill in) one-sided

it's evident pacman trains so hard, that his fights become so easy, but at what point do you stop giving him easy fighters to truly test him and give the fans their money's worth.

Hand-picking fighters can only go so far. Agree with or not?

Arum is talking about chavez jr. Vs. Pacman, are you serious???!!!!!

You guys kill me. You guys want Manny to go up to 147 were he is at a disadvantage. Their not telling Cotto or whom ever to go to 140 but to meet at the middle. Manny will be 4-5 pound above his best weight and cotto or whom ever is 3-4 pounds underneath their best weight. It sounds fair to me.
