Ricky Hatton vs Junior Witter - Has The Time Come?

Ricky Hatton and Junior Witter have had bad blood for close to a decade. They both turned professional on the same year, in 1997, and were very closely matched, regarded by many as the top 2 fighters in the junior welterweight division at one stage in their careers. Suffering 2 defeats each on their records and both man currently standing without a belt of his own, is it time to put the rivalry to rest once and for all and make this fight happen before the inevitability of retirement rears its ugly head?

If Witter gets past Alexander to reclaim the WBC title then I can see this fight happening.

Hatton has ducked Witter his entire career and I for one believe This fight will result in a KO victory for the hitter.

I think this fight needs to happen IMO. If Hatton wants to come home and sign off in style, then fighting and beating Witter would be the best scenario you can think of.

This fight would fill Wembley IMO and i'd love to see Hatton lay Witter out personally. Witter's a knob!

I hope Hatton retires. He'll never fight again at the very highest level, so what's the point in fighting at all? It's not as if he needs the money.

It's a hard fight to call, as so much depends on what state Ricky's confidence is left in. He will need to be at his pre-Manny best to take Witter, who despite becoming the forgotten man is very dangerous. No 'excuses' as it's what happens on the night that counts and on the night it wasn't as close as the score suggests, but Witter really wasn't at his best in losing by SD to Bradley (who I rate the current best in the division, Pacquiao apart). To be honest, my money would be on Witter... I think he would just be so much hungrier for it.

Witter is a straight up bum. Let Hatton have a big fight against Bradley in the UK. Its not like Hatton is done. The man still is a top fighter he just can't beat the very best.
