Floyd Mayweather Sr., needs to retire from being a trainer that over-paid loud mouth who isn't even a good trainer. He doesn't even train his own son, his brother does because his brother is a better trainer.

Hatton doesn't need to retire... he just needs to be a run of the mill title holder. Granted it's doubtful he needs the money, but still, he's not a complete bum. He's just been overrated for the past 5 years.

what an ingrate old big fool floyd is.....
just hours ago he's praising ricky to be a great fighter whom he taught "boxing".
that ricky will whooop manny's ass even without him in ricky's corner.
what a complete 180 degrees turn from the "best trainer" in the world!!
anyway he already said his alibi since a month before the fyt.
"it will be if it's the will of God"....to that effect.

big floyd should clear out of vegas before the brits found out of his advise to their hero ricky!!!
ricky and jmm can still fyt for the "consolation prize" later on......can't they?
assuming that jmm will dive before the third just like ricky, and spare his body of more aches....

i personally don't agree with the people who think hatton should retire. but i do have to come down on all of you who keep forgetting that boxing is a business, and a dirty one it is... mayweather sr never intended for ricky to win. as a matter of fact, he wanted ricky to lose. he would get a good pay from the hatton camp and would secure a multimillion fight for his son against pacman in the near future. is the GOOD COP BAD COP mentality. a rematch against hatton would never draw as much for his son as a match against the philipinno god. don't discard the fact that probably he had discussed this with his son who will make sure his dad gets an extra bonus for assureing this to happen. they are brilliant negotiators and will retire from boxing as the jokers who fooled everyone. OPEN YOUR EYES EVERYBODY...

Mayweather Sr is washing his hands, trying to detach himself from his ward's defeat by saying Hatton should retire. If there's anyone who contributed a lot to Hatton's downfall, it's the old guy. This "****ing before punching" habit of Hatton that Roach was saying, why didn't Old Floyd see that in training? And I don't get it, why should a losing fighter retire after getting beaten by a better guy? Manny wasn't just the better fighter in this fight, he is the best in the world even before he stepped into the ring. Hatton or de la Hoya could still fight if they would choose to. There are still a lot out there to beat. The Brit should fire Mayweather outright. He is a nuisance.
