Would Mayweather be a draw if he didnt hype himself up?

Its his personality that makes him a fail in terms of ticket sales.
For instance, Oscar Dela Hoya wasn't the best boxer but he was the "model citizen" the boy who was nice, respected his parents, loved the fans, and helped the peope in need. So they supported him... ALOT.
Floyd is an *******, talks too much ****(even though he backs it up), disrespected his father to the media, doesn't care about the fans, doesn help the people in need, instead he flaunts his ***els and money and acts like a typical rapper. Which is why he doesn't put asses in seats to the equivalent of Pacquiao, DLH etc. etc.
but oscar was making at least 6 time more money in his 3rd fight than mayweather was making in his 3 fightComment

I rather have Floyd not be remembered as being the greatest, than to have him remembered for trying to kill his opponents with plaster.

All you need to do is base it on who they beat.
Hopkins beat the hell out of Pavlik the next big thing, he goes up to light heavy and embarrasses Tarver, he ended Winky Wrights 7 year streak without losing a fight, He stopped the Golden Boy, and embarrassed Trinidad, who was undefeated and a favorite to win.
Then you have other good wins that go un noticed, guys like William Joppy and Glen Johnson
Hopkins always looks for big challenges. He even flirted with going up to heavyweight! Hopkins ducks no man and fights everyone.
Mayweathers best wins were against DLH JUDAH HATTON CORRALES and Castillo. All solid fighters. Only one of those guys are hof locks.
Winky Wright, Felix Trinidad, and Oscar De La Hoya are all locks. Then some can argue Glen Johnson, Antonio Tarver, and MAYBE Kelly Pavlik (Assuming he gets 3-4 more great victories down the line) can be hall of famers.Last edited by Texanballer; 04-30-2009, 07:42 PM.Comment
