this is true, it was in Time Magazine not too long ago....its got to do with athletes with a cultural and political influence....not just int terms of sports

No baseball, No gridiron, No basketball, No ice hockey, but a boxer in an era where people in general (i.e none boxing fans) think Tyson is still the world champion.

I call BS, boxing is a marginal sport and if anyone was top 100 it would be a football player like Beckham, Ronaldihno, Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo.

Football get a world wide audience of billions every week, Boxing isn't in the same league.
