I go back about 2 years give or take a few months and dismiss everything before then as its about who the best currently. I was wandering what everyone else does.
I usually take into account their form, opposition, and how impressive they look in their last few fights. I then rank accordingly

    1) Pacquaio: Marquez, Diaz, De Le Hoya

    2) Marquez: Pacquaio, Casamayor, Diaz

    3) Hopkins: Tarver, Wright, Calzaghe, Pavlik

    4) Mosely: Cotto, Maryorga, Margarito

These are my top 4 at the minute. I have Hatton around 6-7.

    Hatton: Mayweather, Lazcano, Mallignaggi, Pacquaio?

If he beats Pacquaio, I would rank his recent record, better than Mosely's, and maybe better than Hopkins. So in my opinion, he would slot in around 2-3, relegating Pacquaio to around 4-5.

Hatton is the ONLY fighter on the P4P list to be penalized so heavily for ONE loss and that was to the guy that's regarded as the best fighter of this generation by many so called experts. There are several fighters ahead of Hatton P4P with numerous losses to much lesser fighters than Floyd...

P4P is subjective and most lists are OBVIOUSLY biased by the person doing the rankings!
very true, Hatton has stayed active and beaten his nearest rival too.

I only agree with him being heavily penalized, but i think thats to do with the fashion of the loss, and then the poor performance against Lazcano. I feel he should be around 7 or 8.

I personally think p4p ratings should be based on the accomplishments you achieve outside your weight division. with that said Hatton went up to 147 and didn't really look amazing did he?

Cotto got dropped from No5 to totally gone losing to Marg so your not totally correct other fighters have also been treated the same.

That said BHop lost 1 spot losing to Calzaghe and R Marquez GAINED spots losing to Vazquez twice...

Hopkins lost 3 of his last 6 fights, he was ranked number 7 P4P after the Calzaghe fight, he beat Pavlik who is far less of a fighter than Manny in P4P terms and he's now ranked number 3.

Mosley was ranked 14 P4P, he beat Margarito who was ranked 7 he is now ranked in the top 5.

Hatton is ranked in 8, if he beats Pacquiao he should move ahead of both of these guys.

              Media rival.

              140 is deeper than Malignaggi.

Bhop lost a razor thin split decision.

Lets not forget Hopkins is a career middleweight. Hatton didn't just lose a decision, he was dominated for most of the bout and eventually Koed. Blame the ref, trainer or whatever you like. Even if it was the number one fighter in the world that did it to him. It is all just opinions anyways.
