Those are some guys who I would say have high-level, well-rounded skills. For some reason, I give Chavez less credit bc he was more mechanical to me. I always knew what JCC was coming to do.

Similarly, I wouldn't put Camacho on my top-tier list. And I love me some Camacho. Although he had a great chin, and was a tough kid, he can be bullied. No way a guy like him should lose to a Haugen.

Camacho was ruined by Rosario I thought... he went into full defensive mode after he got roughed up badly in that fight, and stopped really fighting to win... he fought to survive first, and if he could win on top of that, he would...

Those high-level fundamentals are what will allow Floyd to stay on the ropes or in the pocket and NOT take a beating. Guys like Jones, SRL or Ali who defended with their feet and broke all the rules because they were athletic gods? THOSE are the guys who take beatings later in their careers.

Yeah, I agree with this. Those fundamentals will help Mayweather when he gets old.

I do think he will still get beaten up more than Hopkins and Toney did, because... he does use more head movement than most fighters, but... the blocking he does will hopefully be able to compensate for it.

And Hopkins can not win any way he chooses. You can beat Hopkins with athleticism: jones, taylor twice and Calzaghe. If you don't get ****** into the technical boxing, you can beat Hop.

So no fighters are able to be competetive beyond their physical primes? If a fighter is so versatile, they can protract their prime in effect by compensating for the slowdown in other ways.

the thing about floyd is his SKILLS will always show more because of his compition. he barley beat JLC and ODLH, hatton is pretty one dimensional, and those were some of his good opponites, thats why his skills look so great. im not saying he's not skilled, probbably one of the best defenceive fighters ive ever seen, but hopkins, toney, jones all are more skilled, but you can see more of floyds only because of the level of his opponites.

I strongly disagree. Did you see how he outboxed Echols with one hand?

He just had to be more preservative, his stamina isn't what it used to be. You can see that from watching the Johnson, Mercado, Echols fight...so ofcourse, he would have to change it up a little, doesn't mean he didn't know all that stuff
