Well i dont think people research the ancestory of the black person they are talking to before they decide its appropriate to call them African American do you?
Lets be honest they are referring to their skin tone and assuming they MUST be of African decent. However their are white people in Africa to so ..........where is the logic. There aint none.Comment

What is wrong with allowing someone to be apart of their roots? Many African Americans know nothing about their origins. The name is not good enough, they need to research.Comment

What are you talking about with this "Are we suppose to pretend black people don't exist" ****? What I am saying is we should refer to all people born in America as Americans. Maybe I confused you with the distinction thing, because it is hard to explain. But in short, I don't see why we always need to add on that African part. Whenever I hear it on the news it just seems so damn fake, some white people seem afraid that if they say "black", it will offend people.Comment
