Naturally: Are Pac and Hatton the same size?

Yea if it comes down to speed and skill Hatton is going to catch a terrible asswhipping. Hatton has to play to his strengths which happeans to be his strength and physical fighting syle, if he can not make these advantages work for him (or if they just are not there) then his chances are slim to none.Comment

Its a strange one,but when Hatton fought floyd it was assumed that Floyd couldnt fight too well inside and would be bested in that department,I thought that too,but we couldnt have been more wrong. Most of Pacman's strength comes from his legs and that solid base could be a great help inside, especially when he needs to push off and get out.I like the point you are making about the weight increase for Hatton BUT wouldn't you say that Hatton's style involves more physical contact, strength and overpowering your opponent?
Manny's style as he's moved up is still a speed, boxing and staying outside tagging the other person game, where if you are smart, for the most part you can use that and athleticism to nullify the weight advantages of your opponent.
For Hattons part,he is going to have to be a lot cuter inside because Pacquiao's speed isnt just in his punches, its also in his movement,so ricky may not have a lot to grab at.
If he approaches this the same way as the Tszyu fight I can see him looking clumsy and getting hit with counter combos all night long.Comment

hatton is bigger but that won't play a part in this fight.Well I see a lot of tool arguments for this on both sides, but I have yet see anyone who is a reasonable non biased poster give me a good analysis of the issue.
So, please respond if you are not racist, nationalist, or just plain ******. I'll eagerly await all four of you to respond.
they are the same height and close to the same reach and that to me is way more important than what their "natural" weight is.Comment

this isn't a wrestling match. its boxing. what matters in this fight will be length. length is a million times more important than weight in boxing. I think ppl put too much on weight being an issue in boxing when it really isn't.
Like I stated in my other thread, theres a boxer(Julius Long) who is 7'1 and 290lbs which means that he is "bigger" than almost every boxer in the world except for Valuev, yet his record is 15-12. size isn't as important in boxing as most ppl make it out to be.Last edited by -Swizzy-; 04-29-2009, 02:08 PM.Comment
