Tunney, quite honestly there's no need to debate this anymore. The fact of the matter is that Floyd has chosen Marquez because he represents the safest, most lucrative matchup out there. If Oscar De La Hoya can catch flak for what he did to Pacquiao - and in case we forgot, he got HELL for it - then Floyd, a guy who beat a better version of Oscar, should receive even more flak!

But listen, I'm not mad at Floyd. He's trying to work the kinks out and deserves at least one fight to do that. ****, there are a few welters who'd bring him even more money than Marquez but he never once even thought to negotiate with them. His fans may not want to admit it but they know (like he knows) that would've been too much of a risk. So let Floyd dust off the rust with Marquez. Nothing wrong with that. He's extremely skilled but seeing how Floyd is just as skilled and uhh...BIGGER?, I think we know what happens here. Hate to call it a tune-up but...

To me, Juan Manuel Marquez is a great fighter who deserves better than just being a tune-up for someone from a bigger weight division.

If he's competitive with Floyd, it'll be because Floyd has slowed and is rusty. Look, I love Marquez and I think he's a great fighter who has been underrated for much of his career. But, to me, I'm more happy to see him finally get that big payday than I am excited at the thought of him pulling off something miraculous.

26 of Floyd's 39 fights were at super featherweight. What's your point?

                It was 27 moron.

You don't even know how many fights your favorite fighter had at Super Featherweight.

He fought Augustus at 135. I am better at BoxRec than you.

Tunney's initial post was correct based on history.

I am all for 2 guys getting on if they want to.

It doesn't mean a lot to me whether they fight or not.

JMM has only been over 130 5 times in his career. That's fact. Not opinion.

At the same time, he shouldn't be playing the role of a boxing **********, selling his career and legacy for a high price that the Floyd fight can bring.

It kind of makes me sick to see a fighter as good as Marquez giving himself an assured L on his record just for a big paycheck, especially while he is in his prime.
