Actually, Hatton handpicked Floyd. You need to refresh your definition of handpicking.

Hatton cant handpick anybody. Floyd was the P4P king not Hatton.

If you watched the Hatton/Mayweather 24/7 series...you would know this.

                6'7", ****.

On a side note, this thread is already cracking me the hell up.

It's a serious subject, and I'm dead serious in discussing the subject matter.

But it also has dudes who are younger than other dudes discredting them because of their age, a lot of witty back and forth, and an Ultimate Warrior promo.

                Win!

Clearly you like to use 2 different measurin sticks, because Ray Leonard went as far as retiring to not be in the ring again with a specific opponent and come back as soon as said opponent retired. This would be enough, but Leonard also imposed his money power at the negotiating table like no one ever did before or since (Hagler and Lalonde fights for example), and sticked around in a division packed with talent (Kalambay, McCallum, Nunn, Eubank, Benn) while fighting old smaller guys (Duran, Hearns) who brought him more money. Mayweather at least gave an immediate rematch after winning a close fight, something Leonard never did.

And you know what? Leonard, just like Mayweather, did what was best for him, and made as much money as possible. That's what ppl do.

Hatton's name never came out of Floyd's mouth. Floyd wasn't chasing Hatton around, talking **** about him, dying to get in a ring with him.

Cotto..or Marg didnt bring what Oscar did.

His heart and body wasnt it....

He feels threatened by Pacman..Im working on that thread right now.
                      ugh huh.. sure buddy.
it didn't have anything to do with the public getting tired of him not fighting legit threats at welterweight and demanding he fight them or retire.
didn't have anything to do with the WBC demanding he defend the belt or get stripped.
didn't have anything to do with the fact that Cotto, Margarito, and Williams where at the top of the division.. it's just all mear coensidence
