Where your logic fails is when you started believing that Floyd needed to retire to avoid Cotto and Marg. He could have just kept on fighting, taken 25 more million to play patty cake with De La Hoya, maybe ****ed up some 140 pounders while he was at it. No one was going to force Floyd to fight Cotto and Marg, he didn't need to retire to avoid them.

What do you make of Mayweather "retiring" when Cotto was at the top of the division, Margarito was the toughest bastard around, and there was a 7'0" tall freak who threw 1,000 punches a round all wanting a shot at him?

But then he came back when Cotto had already got the **** beat out of him, Margarito's reputation was in shambles, and Williams was fighting at 160?

Floyd Mayweather Jr declined a $25+ Mill offer for an Oscar De La Hoya rematch. What makes anyone think he's gonna fight anyone for $5, $8, $10 Mill. He didn't want to fight anymore, plain and simple. When you rejct 25-30 Mil to fight a guy you already beat and you already know gasses out after 8 rounds, Your heart isn't in it anymore.
