    A question for Floyd fans

What do you make of Mayweather "retiring" when Cotto was at the top of the division, Margarito was the toughest bastard around, and there was a 7'0" tall freak who threw 1,000 punches a round all wanting a shot at him?

But then he came back when Cotto had already got the **** beat out of him, Margarito's reputation was in shambles, and Williams was fighting at 160?

(I was talking with Clegg earlier today and he brought up the above, and I figured it was too good not to make a thread for.)

Only Ray Leonard could have done better.

I was willing to give Mayweather a pass for retiring before his rematch with ODLH, because I thought that meant that he was actually finished with the sport. I mean, it was the biggest payday possible for him, so... why would he walk away unless he was done with the sport?

But now... man, all the **** about him ducking top welterweights is just becoming true. It's pretty sad that the guy who used to be my favorite fighter is now such a joke in my eyes.

Cotto never challanged him. Floyd was p4p#1 the best there was to fight. Champions dont make challanges, the underlings do.

He ducked Dr. Doom. I dont blame him. I would too.

Who doesn't duck Paul Williams? Cotto ducked him even when PWIll openly challanged him. In the media eye.

Cotto went on record multiple times stating that he would like to fight Floyd, but that he couldn't force him to fight him. So rather than chase him (which is apparently what you gotta do to get a fight with his ass), Cotto opted to fight the other top guys at 147. Tony being one of them, and at a time when nobody wanted to even mention Tony's name.

He's either really smart or has ESP. He couldn't of planned it any better. When he retired there was no lineal WW champ, Margarito, Cotto, Williams and even Shane were in the mix. Paquiao was not #1 P4P yet. Since he's been gone, Cotto lost to Margarito, Shane batters Margarito, boom we have a #1 WW clearly defined. Pacquiao defeats DLH and becomes the #1 P4P. Now he's back and has megafight opportunities that weren't there a year ago. The man must be a genius!

This has been done to death Bringer. Mr boat buyer didn't wanna fight anymore. Period. Anything beyond that is just for fun imo.

                  Right...I guess Mayweather just knew....

That the FAVORED cotto would lose.

That the favored Margarito would lose.

And that Williams would go from 147 to 160 ina couple months time.

                  Right.

                  This thread fails.

Maywetaher said he was taking time off.,.....hes been gone 19 months...

                  This thread fails.

He turned down 30 million dollars to fight Oscar.....

Think about that...Floyds heart and body wasnt in it no more.
