But it's not an achievement to fight a bigger man with a bigger
punch at his natural weight and prior to Floyd fighting him had only
been knocked out by the bigger Hopkins & knocked out a big Mayorga
in 5 rds? A split on a guy like that is not unbelievable, besides,
The Leonard/Hagler fight is still debatable, hell them guys are still
at odds about who won the fight AND Hagler retired right after
that because Leonard didn't want to give him a rematch.
he almost lost to a guy that got his face broken by little forbes and got battered by super little pac. he fought an old version of the la hoya that stopped punching after 5 rounds, what kind of achievement is that?

In the same post, you call Delahoya old back then...and then guzzle Pac's semen for "battering" an even OLDER Delahoya.

      Huh?

Manny Pacquiao got the Steve Forbes, Oscar De La Hoya.
Floyd Mayweather Jr got the Oscar who knocked out
Ricardo Mayorga and still had a pulse/title at 154. You
can't down play one man to bring up another because WE
all know regardless of De La Hoya saying he was in the best
shape of his life, looked like home boy from the Machinist.

exactly... floyd ain't no spring chicken himself and his body is breaking down as well.

marquez has spent his last 3 years doing great fights, not in a layoff
that means marquez has an edge (not every) edge over floyd.

that's the whole problem with this fight. you don't use the 2nd best fighter for a tune up, you use a jennings/gomez kind of fighter. heck, he could beat up cintron if he needed a bit of a name in 147
so is fighting jmm at 144 lbs a risker fight than fighting jennings/gomez at 147 lbs?

cintron is busy at 154 I think.

Floyd IS home. What i recon is people want to bring him out, but appear it's Floyd's idea and as such he must obey demands and ****. That trick will only work on yourselves lol.

anyway? I already feel good about myself don't need a bunch of
face less guys on a boxing chatting site to make me feel any better.
Cotto has fought maybe two tougher fights than Floyd at 147
Mosley/Margarito, the rest are or wasn't tough at all. Cotto and
Mayweather share Zab Judah and Cotto got Zab 430 days
after Mayweather and still got his face bust open. I believe Baldomir
and Sharmba Mitchel would have beat Gomez and Jennings. Cotto
is fighting Clottey and I applaud him for that but as much as you
say Floyd hasn't fought tough guys at 147 it's just a two now 3
fight difference. Also you have to remember that Floyd started at
130 so his careers spans longer than Cotto's and his experience in
the ring exceeds Cotto's by far. Cotto has just been fighting at 147
longer I feel Floyd should fight Mosley and Cotto after Pacquiao.

When some boxing fans claim Margarito beat Cotto they say it just to annoy Cotto fans they're lying just to get under Cottos fans skin. Either they dont know all the facts or are just not smart enough to know the truth.

I know the whole damn game they play in these sights and some people will say anyting even if they dont believe it themselves.

Floyds a very good fighter, but he hasn't proven himself enough. Its not all about skill, because not always the most skillfull fighter win, but the one that has what it takes to beat the other and sometimes a fighter just might get lucky.

when Floyd was fighting at 130 there were three champions the top three fighters in the division besides him and he didn't fight any of them to prove he was the best.

Mitchell is a boxer that before he fought Mayweather couldn't take a punch anymore. Baldomir was a fighter that won his dream fight. Its was more like a fairytale story for him. Judah had become careless and when he fought Floyd he wasn't at his best. You can tell he wasn't in much condition his stamina was an issue in that fight and he just had lost to Baldomir. Judah was in much better condition for the Cotto fight. Judah was determine to revive his career. After Baldomir, Judah fought Mayweather just three months later, but when he fought Cotto he took a much bigger rest and Cotto knocked him out.

But forget the facts we can go back and forth. Perhaps they might fight eachother one day after Cottos all battered up for fighting dangerous fighters while Mayweather plays it safe. Perhaps Floyd can beat him anyways, but it doesn't change the fact that floyd is afraid of losing to many fighers. I don't want to say he's a chicken, coward. I don't really know is that the right word to use, because I believe he might be capable of beating some bigger fighters, but he's just afraid he might not. But for those that lie about that and dont accept that fact they will continue to read the words Gayweather , because they denied the fact that he is afraid of losing.

              • Lots of options for jr. at 147. There are tons of other fighters that would LOVE to get the chance to fight him at that weight... BUT WILL HE???

very good post. no hate....just facts.

i'm not a hater but i just don't like that mayweather don't took/take any risk. he picked all his opponents. picking fighters like bruseles, baldomir and maybe now JMM it's what i don't like. he needs to prove, at least, at the WW division that he's a force to be reckon

i have NEVER given credit to pac for battering an old, weight drained de la hoya. look at my post history before posting random ****. in fact, i recently said that the only credit should be given to roach for getting his fighter up 12 pounds because he always knew what little de la hoya had left
