Call him Juanma Superstar. I wouldn't even consider picking anyone under 130 lbs to beat him now.

      Cong**** JuanMa! Good Win~

Roach should have not Stop the fight!
I knew Gerry was behind on Score Cards yet he never appeared to be in serious trouble!!!

As a fighter, the coach should not take away his pride!!!
      To loose a K.O. is somewhat embarrasing~

I would have prefer to see Lopez stop Gerry with his punches!!!

One thing is very obvious in this fight! JuanMa is too big for Penalosa~

I think Gerry can still compete at his natural weight!!!
I like him to see against Darchinyan or Montiel!!!

Only two things it showed in this match, that one, JuanMa is stronger than Penalosa at that weight level, and two, Penalosa displayed again his superb defensive skills that never betrayed him for all his fights!
Oh he was wobbled on at least two occasions but not enough to be capitalized on.

                Re Lopez confirms..

What battering? Where did you get that idea? Our champ,Gerry Penalosa, was giving Juanma a good fight when the fight was prematurely stopped upon Roach's decision (very clearly over the protest of Penalosa - only showing Roach doesn't really know "his" fighter well). Although admittedly Juanma threw more punches, we didn't see a battered Penalosa. Neither did we see a daze Penalosa. We saw a frustrated and tiring Juanma in the 9th Round. If the fight was just continued, we are confident Penalosa would have stopped Juanma in the later rounds.

Roach did more harm than help Penalosa. We would have preferred Dodie Penalosa over Freddie Roach.

We are proud of you WBO Bantamweight Champ Geronimo Penalosa!

juanma is impressive alryt. he should be pushing for quality opponents hereon. arum knows how to phase him and make a star out of him, like oscar, floyd and manny. present day great/successful fighters don't just **** it out with all the best there is, phasing is the key to be able to steadily grow/mature and sustain competetiveness. jaunma is young he can grow up to 135 lbs and still successfully campaign thereat.....if he phase himself good.

Dumb ***ing post, the ******s lurking these forums get worse everyday. Penalosa should thank Freddy for stopping this fight, he was getting battered. His face was turning purple 5 minutes after the fight was stopped, his ear was about to burst and more than likely he'll be pissing blood for weeks.
