that was a good stoppage and ortega is a good ref. the only reason he let it go that long was because it was the last round. he stopped it at the right time.

I'm lucky I live alone or else I'd have woke up the whole house no matter how hard I tried to be quiet. Shouting at the screen to stop him top of my voice. Man you gotta love Froch's commitment and just sheers guts. Now Taylor knows who Froch is.

The stop from the referee came at exactly the right time I think, would have been too soon if he had stopped it before that point, it was the last round after all. No question it should have not gone any further than it did though, Taylor was getting ripped a new one.

Jermaine Taylor looked like he was about to die. The referee could have had him killed.

He let it go that long because Taylor was fighting at home. That is a dereliction of duty. Fortunately Froch was too tired to fire off with too many powerful punches.

I agree completely. The way Taylor's head went back, his expression when the punch landed, and his body language while he was on the canvas were clear indicators that he should not have been allowed to continue.

Haha, change the word family for housemates and that's just been the exact same scene in my front room! Listening to it on the radio just seemed to make it even more dramatic for some reason! Get in!!!

he was given a chance to get up and earn the belt.. and the stoppage was correct.. he took about 10 punches and 14 seconds left easily coulda have taken 10 or more punches so ref stopped it

This is boxing you *******! J/K But seriously, the ref stopped the fight at the perfect time. This way nobody can claim it was stopped too soon and there is no controversy. More fights should be aloud to go on just like this one. Taylor had a chance to recover and Froch got his chance to finish Taylor off. Great stoppage!

i disagree. connecticut is nowhere near arkansas. ortega did his job. taylor is a former champion who was rightfully given the benefit of the doubt.
