Disgraceful Refereeing

Who cares. Taylor could hardly move after that initial knockdown, he's just lucky Froch was tired otherwise he'd have been seriously hurt.

Please don't make this out to be superman Froch dominating. Froch is lucky Taylor has no gas tank, otherswise he would have gotten dominated the whole damn fight.

If Froch had anything resembling talent, he would have taken Taylor out within 4 rounds.

After the Pavlik fight, I said that Taylor more than likely was physically ruined as a fighter.

After the Lacy fight, I said that Taylor was too small for 168.

From the opening bell of the Froch fight it was obvious that Taylor's legs were shot, and that he was a physically diminished fighter, but Froch was still unable to take advantage.

Not only was Froch unable to take advantage, of being the bigger man, against a Taylor, with no legs, he himself was getting absolutely dominated.

This fight once and for all exposed Froch for what he is. A c+ fighter, that has built his record on soft opposition.

I think you've misunderstood. I'm saying the fight should have been stopped earlier.

This is the United States.......it was OK for it to go on; it should go on. Hell, in the past, refs probably would have allowed Taylor to be just KTFO there at the end. I thought the ref waiving it off was fair.

I think this goes back to the post I had with Kevin Rooney discussing the amateur system today and how Europeans have chaned both the amteur fight game and Pro fight game. As Wlad would say: This is a SPORT.

That was a scandalous decision. There's no way in hell Taylor should have been allowed to continue after that knockdown.

No the ref did the right thing and thank god he let it go on because Froch would not have got the props he is getting right now. A friend still thinks that the fight was stopped early The stoppage was perfect. IMO, the ref did a great job. I was rooting for Froch and I saw what I wanted to see from this fight.

I'm not really interested in dissecting Froch's credentials, we can do that elsewhere. This is about a referee neglecting to do his job. I don't know how anyone can honestly say they think Taylor was in a fit state to continue after that knockdown. Did you see the state of him?

Taylor deserved a crack at hanging on.

But he stopped it at the right time. Taylor eyes to the floor, and Froch basically with 14 seconds of free full-blown shots to the head. In this country we would have stopped it sooner but Taylor could have seen it through. I dunno it is difficult.

Yes, he was perfectly aware of where he was, and had his eyes on the ref through the whole count.
