On Duddy - Anyone that has the MSG Channel has seen plenty of fight of Duddy. He has the profile of a money maker for promoters. Well spoken, white/irish, slugger, and clean cut. But anyone who has seen him fight knows that he is a B level at best. There has been a lot of manuevering by this promoter to get him easy fights. The Campas fight was a fluke, they thaught that it was going to be an easy one and a good name for his resume.... and almost lost. But it was then that his team realize they needed to keep an intact record and a big name opponent for a BIG payday. Well... too bad for them. The kid is still white/irish, clean cut and well spoken... but he was exposed yesterday.

Ouma - Dude.... retire... enough said!

Cintron - If your hope was that boxing skills are transmitted through the bloodline... you were right. You are as talented as your brother but without the punching power.

What happen to your post about Kelly Pavlik being overrated and soon be exposed? Why edit? You are a bad Alt who can't even make up his mind on who to flame against.

Pretty shocking, but I've always thought Duddy was a overrated fighter, and has got as far as he did due to his big fan following.

Don't get me wrong, he isn't a terrible fighter but was overrated and done well just to get were he is at times. As I've always thought there were much better fighters than him around, but much less known.

I can imagine he will be very dissapointed as a big pay day has gone out the window etc. Imagine what Kelly Pavlik would have done to Duddy.....

....how can john duddy be overrated? who was rating him high? boxing fans, boxing analysts, and boxing writers all said the same thing about him. He was pretty good, and an entertaining slugger..which is nothing but the truth. He's not overrated because no one was rating him high.

As for him losing, he prob should of beat this guy. I've noticed his last few fights he went away from his slugging and brawling style and tried to be more of a boxer. Which wasnt his style and you could tell he was never comfortable with it. He should stick to brawling.

I'm well gutted for him but that's exactly what happens when you focus ahead rather than the task at hand. Atleast he'll never do that again (hopefully)

Duddy has been skating on thin ice for a while now. It was going to happen sooner or later.

good comment as that reminds me of a Duddy fight 3-4 back when he was on the Klitschko under card, and after getting the W in a less then inspiring performance, the Irish commentators for the fight mentioned that Duddy was lucky to have gotten as far as he had without a loss (and this was 23 or 24 wins)

so where was all this hype coming from about John Duddy ... as whenever reading about him I've always heard him described as a limited brawler.

yeah great news, as Pavlik-Duddy would have been the Great White Hype re incarnated (referring to the movie with Damon Wayans. )
