I'm at the age where remembering where the opticion is a struggle!
One more question, if you do the quote thing at the start and end then reply then you can do the start and quote thing again and reply point by point?
It will help with my coherance.

He had a bad performance against Mildenberger when he was tired due to the draft problems. Still he dominated Mildenberger for most of the fight, and won with plenty to spare. He was made to feel uncomfortable at times, but he was never really hurt.
The second Cooper fight may not have been his most entertaining - although I certainly didn't find it boring - but he completely took away Cooper's hook, which had troubled him in their first fight, and dominated every minute of every round.
Folley had his moments, but overall I thought Ali put on a superb performance against him, one of the best of his career.

Joe Louis had heart and determination, but Ali is extremely underrated in that department, plus he had a world class chin.
I have the utmost respect for Joe Louis. His record and accomplishments were great and his only three losses were to atg and hall of famers. But I just dont see him beating Ali. He just doesnt match up.
Thats just my opinion.

Also regarding his power being almost as good, that seems an odd statement to me. I'll agree his power was under-rated by some, but apart from the Liston rematch he didn't knock anyone out with a single punch as far as I remember, whereas Louis knocked quite a few people out with one punch. Several of Ali's opponents said he didn't hit that hard, it was the speed that got them, and being hit by a large number of punches that they couldn't see coming, when they were already off balance, rather than the power.Last edited by Dave Rado; 04-24-2009, 04:08 PM.
