It didn't twist the truth.. If anything, history has twisted the truth.
People forget how much of an ******* and a prick Ali was. They forget the hell he put Frazier and his family through. It's about time someone showed Ali for what he really is.
I don't understand how people and Ali expect Frazier to forgive him either.
Would you forgive a man who turned his back on you after you helped him out, rediculed you and tried to humiliate you but then after it was all said and done tried to wash his hands by saying it was meant to "promote" the fight and giving a weak ass apology?
Showing up to someone's hotel firing off a gun isn't promoting a fight.. It's just arrogant ignorance.
Ali deserves to be in the state he is in. He was a great fighter with extraordinary talent and skill but he was a worthless man. I bet he must regret everything he said and did when he has trouble performing easy everyday functions.Comment

The gorilla thing was nasty but was hardly meant in a racist way, coming from Ali. Calling Porsche his mistress without mentioning that they married three months later was highly misleading. The claim that Ali was fed the Vietcong line was untrue. The coverage of the second fight was very misleading. The claim that Ali wouldn't have come out for the final round of the third fight if Frazier had come out was pure speculation, and given Angelo Dundee's record, highly unlikely speculation at that.
What does his adultery have to do with that? Or the stuff about the Vietcong? Or the stuff about the Nation of Islam? All totally irrelevant and only there because the film was a hatchet job.Comment

You are a ****ing ****** for saying that. He may have said some awful things about Frazier, but they are words at the end of the day. To say a man deserves to get parkinsons because he called someone names is very low. Lets hope you never have to suffer with a illness like it.Comment

One thing is to be an ******* like Ali was to promote the fight another is to be happy when you see Ali in his condition. Sorry but there's no compairison there.
Frazier is an ******* to the 10th degree for the things he said in that documentary. If you want to be upset that Ali did what he did, that's fine but after all these years and Ali asking for fogiveness, you would think Frazier would get over it.
Instead the guy relishes in the Parkinsons Ali suffers from and in his words, "I smile because I know I did that to him". That's beyond low man, I don't care how you cut it.
The thing is, Frazier is the one who is worse off because History will remember Ali as the greatest HW of all time and an the biggest icon in boxing, while Frazier will be remembered as the guy who lost against Ali.
That's the real reason Frazier hates Ali, not because of a few things he said to promote the fight....
Why shouldn't I? A racist, arrogant ******* got what he deserved.
People forget that Ali was part of the nation of islam too.. which is the black version of the ku klux klan.
Again, they weren't just words... there was a time Frazier couldn't even walk outside his house with a bunch of body guards for fear of his life and his families.
People try to justify what Ali did now because of the conditition he is in and the status he has.. mear words dont just erase those years of bad blood and wrong doing.Comment

y'all can doubt it all you want.. there is people from Ali's corner who heard it and many others as well. it's not like it matters wether or not he wanted to end the fight, Frazier's corner threw in the towel before he could so it is irrelevant.Comment

Ali's remarks to me meant more of how Frazier fought straight forward come right at you here it is take your best shot and give you his. Using his brute strength sort of like a gorilla. He called Foreman the mummy because Foreman walked his opponents down in the ring holding his hands in a certain position that reminded Ali of how the mummy walked in the movies. he called Sonny Liston a bear. A Big Ugly Bear this was just Ali's style not a racist remark. It always the people who think that way that make those claims trying to make something more out of it then it was. Joe took it that way because Joe truly hated Ali and the hatred wasn't there in Ali’s heart for Joe.
It's not really fair to armchair remarks about this entire situation without actually knowing either man. I feel for Frazier because who hasn't been called names before. Now amplify that with someone you thought was a friend and when you both are on a wider than national stage (lets say the most of the world had heard something of there fights and history together), and anyone can see why Frazier is still a little amped over it.Comment

It's poetic justice. I find the irony of it amusing.

So people can't make mistakes and be forgiven for them? Ali has since them separated himself from the extremist rhetoric that the Nation of Islam stands for.
It was a long time ago man, get over it. I mean, I don't know where you come from but where I come from if a man swallows his pride and admits he was wrong and extends his hand in an apology, you take it. That's what being a man is. Frazier is more upset with the way history has remembered him than what Ali did in those weeks leading up to the fight.Comment
