However, he understood when Ali called him an Uncle Tom (which was the worst thing he ever called him). I don't know what the true motives were from either man, but it's not fair for anyone to say that they know what was what.
It's not really fair to armchair remarks about this entire situation without actually knowing either man. I feel for Frazier because who hasn't been called names before. Now amplify that with someone you thought was a friend and when you both are on a wider than national stage (lets say the most of the world had heard something of there fights and history together), and anyone can see why Frazier is still a little amped over it.

I actually agree with Arum on this one. The documentary was fine and I enjoyed but I don't agree with journalism that downplays the legacy of the greatest fighter of all time. It's funny that this documentary was made when Frazier is flat broke and Ali cannot even speak for himself.

Why shouldn't I? A racist, arrogant ******* got what he deserved.
People forget that Ali was part of the nation of islam too.. which is the black version of the ku klux klan.
Again, they weren't just words... there was a time Frazier couldn't even walk outside his house with a bunch of body guards for fear of his life and his families.
People try to justify what Ali did now because of the conditition he is in and the status he has.. mear words dont just erase those years of bad blood and wrong doing.

Shut up Arum and let they rest of us enjoy
Was a great documentary and i have never been a Smoking Joe fan but about time they gave him his due. I love Ali and truly believe he had as much to do with the civil rights movement in America as MLK or MalcomX but there is quite a few movies already about his Life. And As much as i love Ali there is no doubt he was a very Crude trash talker and was informative to see the Kind of Damage his Trash talking would do. We all knew Frazier never got over his Battles with Ali but i had no idea to what extent, till this documentary. I love getting the other point of view for a change and i Think Smoking Joe needed it more, To Finally Get Recongized for his Career in Boxing. Was truly moving, for me at least, in the last scenes as Joe was watching his final fight with Ali and to see the Way he was in another world, as if he was back in those moments taking all those punches but still fighting. While watching Joe in the final 15 minutes, i wondered if Joe was Amazed at himself for being such an underdog and putting up one of the greatest fights ever or if he was proud that because of that fight Ali was never the same and started showing signs of his Disability. To tell the truth i would never like to know the answer because i believe Joe would be more Proud of the Latter and would glady say so. Its sad that Joe has never been able to get over his grudge against Ali but after this documentary i think its easier to understand why, especially considering what Joe did for Ali while he was Banned from Boxing. I hope that Joe and Ali get to together and solve there issues before its too late but i can understand why Joe wants an apology from Ali himself. I think Ali owes Frazier at least that much and after that one can only hope they renew their friendship. But thanks again Ali and Frazier for giving us three of the Greatest fights in History thats still talked about 40 years after

People forget how much of an ******* and a prick Ali was. They forget the hell he put Frazier and his family through. It's about time someone showed Ali for what he really is.
I don't understand how people and Ali expect Frazier to forgive him either.
Would you forgive a man who turned his back on you after you helped him out, rediculed you and tried to humiliate you but then after it was all said and done tried to wash his hands by saying it was meant to "promote" the fight and giving a weak ass apology?
Showing up to someone's hotel firing off a gun isn't promoting a fight.. It's just arrogant ignorance.
Ali deserves to be in the state he is in. He was a great fighter with extraordinary talent and skill but he was a worthless man. I bet he must regret everything he said and did when he has trouble performing easy everyday functions.

People seem to be jumping on this quote "Ali deserves to be in the state he is in. He was a great fighter with extraordinary talent and skill but he was a worthless man. I bet he must regret everything he said and did when he has trouble performing easy everyday functions" as a way of dismissing who and what Ali really was. The truth is somewhere in the middle of this discussion and without a doubt history goes out of it's way to hide everything they want people to forget about Ali. I'll just say this, the "Deserves to be in the state he is in" went to far. But the truth is, Ali was an extraordinary fighter AND a questionable human being.

It certainly was something different, we have been seeing Ali's side of the story for decades, but it was kind of biased at times.
