My main point, which I have repeatedly mentioned, is the fact Morales was coming off a loss both times he faced Manny. You mention Morales was in a tune up, tune ups are usually low risk fights to set up a big fight in the future where both fighters are required to win. Regardless if Morales, as you say, was a great fighter in his prime he shuld have dealt with anyone. Morales did not win he was beaten ten rounds to two, that is not a narrow decision loss, and normally when this happens the major fight doesn't materialise. For example, the middleweight tournament in 2001, there were two fights where the two winners fought each other. I accept your point about it being a "grudge match" and on those grounds the fight makes sense, as the reasons for the fight are more personal. However the fight does not make logical sense if Pacquiao is trying to achieve something great. I just watched the post-match analysis of Morales-Raheem and Pacquiao's face drops and Lampley says "it looks like Manny Pacquiao is going to have to find a new opponent for his next fight". I am not mentioning Lampley to strengthen my argument by using a well known figure in boxing instead too add significace, I am just emphasising that on common logic everyone would think the fight would be called off.

Also I just want to say Pacquiao made the right move for financial and reputational reasons by beating a legend and further enhancing his name in boxing however in boxing terms the fight didn't make sense.

Bringing up Oscar is irrelevant, I used an example merely to make my point more understood, we are discussing Morales vs Pacquiao II
I brought up Oscar because you brought up Bhop, RJJ, and Joe. That fight was a situation wherein Bhop should've ignored Oscar if he wanted to accomplish something truly great because to be completely honest, Oscar was the smaller man who just got a gift decision from another middleweight champ holding a minor belt. Instead Bhop chose to go on with the farce because of the lure of fame and fortune that Oscar's draw brought to the table.

How hard is it to point out that DESPITE Morales suffering a close loss to Barrera (not surprising since all their fights were competitive anyway) and to Raheem (wrong opponent and division to pick for a tuneup when you're not yet 100%), let's not forget that he beat Pacquiao in their first go around.

What's wrong with Pac trying to get back at a fighter who BEAT him. To put things in proper perspective Pac wasn't in a position to go after greatness at the time because he was brought back down to Earth by the loss to Erik even if you pointed out Erik lost to MAB and Raheem. Frankly, those losses makes the loss to Erik even look worse for Pac. A good way for Pac to get his career back on track was to try to beat the man who beat him. He can go after any other great if he was successful in that assignment but he had to take it one step at a time. The first step being to overcome his conqueror.

I think you were asking too much of Pacquiao back then (but I'm suspecting it's all on hindsight after what happened to their careers since), but beating Erik was his first concern because almost everyone was doubting how good he really was at that point. Also, you must remember that Morales was still being widely touted to outclass Pac before the rematch, only this time Pac had something special in store for him.

They say Erik and MAB(Prime) wasnt prime when Manny destroyed them but its safe to assume the PAC wasnt prime either.

You can talk about morales, but I tell you what...

The better Pac does from now on, the better for Morales' legacy.

Think about this, Morales is the only one of them with an official legit win that cannot be argued.

DLH, JMM and Barrera couldnt beat Pac but Morales did. If Pac goes on to KO hatton that just makes Morales look better.

Morales was trying to make his way back to 130. That's why they had that doubleheader tuneup. Raheem's previous fight was at lightweight and never went below 135 after that fight.

Don't you ever get tired of owning your dumb self all the time?
              Damn you're an idiot.

The fight was supposed to be at 130, Morales couldn't make weight so they CHANGED the agreed weight to 135. Yes, ya dumb***, it was supposed to be a tuneup, but Raheem blew away Morales and proved that Morales is NOT an elite fighter anymore, despite him whooping Pac's ass with ease. HBO even said Morales should possibly retire and the rematch with Pacquiao should be canceled. Arum heard them say that and went into an outrage $$$ and insisted Morales to fight Pacquiao again.

HBO also said Pac should duck Raheem, who looked like superman that night, and instead go back down in weight and KO more little guys. LOL

Yes, Raheem said he felt better at 135 because he didn't have to starve himself, that's why he didn't fight below 130 again.

You *******s are the most pathetic fans, LOL.

Fernando Vargas was 28 when he lost to Shane Mosley...and SHOT. Age has nothing to do with it. You can be done at 25.

HBO said it moments after the decision was announced. Send your hate mail to HBO if you don't agree.

To quote Lampley, "No, I don't think Pac should fight Raheem, No, he should never get in the ring with Raheem, he should move back down and knockout more featherweights".

Why should Pac fought at LW? His first fight @ 130 was a lose.
Then Raheem was embarrass in his next fight.
