Im having a hard time because of this fight. It makes my days go by so freaking slow. I think its gonna be an explosive fight. Both are human bull dozers and both have gotten better defensively. In watching 24/7 it seems to me that Freddy Roach is relying on Hitman to revert to his old ways. I think Ricky looks great. Sr has him throwing super fast combos and **** Ive never seen Ricky do before. Lets hope for a tough competitive fight and NO FUDGING EXCUSES!!!!!!!! THE BEST MAN WILL WIN PERIOD!

Ricky doesn't need to change his style, what he needs is a plan B.Last edited by koboy; 04-22-2009, 03:57 PM.

Last 2 fights for both guys; Ricky beat lazcano & malignaggi. Pacquiao beat david diaz & oscar. I put more stock in Manny's win.
RIcky Hatton is a rich man's version of david diaz.
To beat manny, thats not rich enough.
Pacquiao is the better fighter no doubt, and if the fight was at 130 or Hatton was old, past prime or moving down in weight, then I could see why Pacquiao would be the favourite. But to be honest, Hatton is natural at the weight and Pacquiao has never fought there. Hatton is therefore accustomed to the conditions of the weight, and Pacquiao is not. Manny's fight at 147 against DLH is no indication of how Manny will do above 135 - he didn't even get hit, such was the horrible condition of Oscar. He has been rocked by fighters at featherweight and so someone with decent power at 140 i.e. Hatton, will pose alot of problems for Pac. Combine that with the physical strength and non-stop aggressivness of Ricky and I just don't see how Manny is the clear cut favourite..

Ineffective jab? On many occasions he pushed Malignaggi across the ring with his jab, he set up a huge right hand that almost knocked down Malignaggi with a jab, and rocked him a few times with a jab.
His head movement was improved, his aggressiveness was still there but more educated, he threw more combinations and he didn't clinch at all.
This was only after a few weeks with Floyd Snr.
His style, although one-dimensional and predictable, was what was successful for Ricky. It was his own style, I don't think anyone else fought that way and opponents didn't know how to handle it.
Ricky changed his style because of his loss to Mayweather. What he doesn't realize is, whatever style he had that night, he wouldn't have won against PBF, he's just not in the same league. The bad outing against Urango was just about his confidence being shot after the PBF fight. They should have worked on his confidence instead of his style.
You think Kelly Pavlik will change his style after a loss to Hopkins. I don't think so. Watch him dominate the middleweights again.

a lot of dumb remarks on this thread, some are saying "manny is no defensive genius like mayweather" lolz yeah right and "RICKY is no counterpunching master like marquez either" got that all you hatton huggers?. please dont compare resume's ricky's will look like **** compared to the PACMAN's. the nerve of ricky to call the POUND for POUND #1 boxer on the planet a 1 style fighter. FYI ricky you dont get to where the PACMAN is at, by fighting only in one style. and for the last time manny will not stand in front of hatton to get hit with that so called body shot of his.

Now as far as defense Manny does block more or avoid more punches than RICKY, and he definetly will out speed Ricky. About the Marquez, I agree with you to certain extent in fairness he did knock him down four times, but that why I respect Marquez cause he's got a lot of heart and determination to get up. Know about DIAZ AND DE LA HOYA, you got to remember this is a guy that started at 106lbs, but still manage to do what he did to DE LA HOYA, and I don't wanna hear that weight drained excuse blame it on DE LA HOYA'S CAMP. About HATTON who beat Kosta Tsyzu and Castillo, the difference is that PACMAN will not be ****** enought to stand in there like the other two. About Collazo and Lazcano they may hit harder or they may not but those guys are naturally bigger than PACMAN, and the difference is both Collazo and Lazcano doesn't have the heart and determination like PACMAN does, and when I say determination unless you live in a third world country and fight for the honor of you country trust me man that right there will be big enough. Your right PACQUIAO has not fought a legit fighter above 130 cause you discredit David Diaz's accomplishment, we're not saying that Manny will dominate him, but merely saying that he is no pushover. Bottom line is I hope you put your money and where your mouth is and actually watch this fight, and when Ricky wins no excuses the better man won cause he has not lost in this weightclass, but if PACMAN wins I hope that you give the guy the proper respect and honor and quit making excuses like all the PACMAN HATERS..REAL MEXICANS LOVE PACQUIAO cause they say he fights like a mexican with a lot of heart. MEXICAN AMERICAN HATERS hate pacquiao, because they don't know what real "HUEVOS" is they assume its the HUEVOS RANCHEROS that their mama feeds them every morning...WITH THAT SAID MAY THE BETTER MAN WIN.
Manny Pacquiao is and that I will man up and give him his props if
he pulls off a win on Ricky Hatton come May 2nd. I have no problem
with giving a fighter credit where it is do because I watch boxing and
like to see the best fights. I just read a lot of posts on here and the
odds is really stacked against Ricky chance wise and frankly I just
can't see it being that lopsided in my mind that all. I haven't anticipated
a fight like this in a long time since Cotto/Margarito and am curious to
see how this plays out. Manny has more than slim chance to win
because he is very tough but I'm leaning towards Hatton.
