And if he really just wants to take a tune up before taking on 147's best, why not take on a Collazo, Quintana or Delvin Rodriguiz type fighter? Because he's about the dollar and not the best. after this fight he'll want Pacquiao and 20 mil. After that he'll never fight again, mark my words. No Cotto, no Mosely, no Williams, no dangerous welterweight at all.
You can't blame him for taking on JMM rather then Collazo, Devlin (Who EVEN JMM will pose a bigger threat then) and Quintana.

that's an easy question, the answer is: weight

unless you think that wlad risks something by fighting pac or marquez

My problem is with his or his fans calling this a tune up fight. It isn't, its a money fight against a guy who's going to be way out of his weight class. If it is a tune up, who's he tuning up for? Obvious answer is Manny....another money fight. Both those guys are excellent fighters, but I don't think either can give Floyd the type of fight Cotto, Mosley or Williams would. He said if he came back it would be about legacy. Welterweight is where his legacy and unfinished buisness is at.

And before anyone decides to say I just want him to lose, fight bigger fighters, etc, etc, etc, I think he beats Cotto and Shane. Williams Im not so sure about. I want him to make these fights because they are the biggest challenges at a weight he's been at for some time now.

It isn't about liking or disliking Floyd. Its about the most competitive and best fights for boxing.

I see what your saying but I honestly don't believe Cotto/ Shane would pose a bigger threat then Pacquaio. Infact, I wouldn't want Mayweather to fight Shane, Shane is past it, I wish people could see it.

I do believe Paul Williams will pose the biggest threat.

Williams is a beast right now.

If Floyd is successful against Marquez and Manny do you think he'll fight any of those guys or just retire again?

A win over Williams, Cotto or both and a lot of mouths will be shut about Floyd. You're probably right about Shane though. A win over him at this stage and the detractors will still slam him. Me? Im no fan of his, but if he fights and beats the best I'll be the first to step up and give him his just does.
