If JMM just signed to fight at 144lbs with Alfonso Gomez.... I would definitely be favoring JMM....

Floyd Gets WAY more credit for fighting JMM at 140... at 143-145... he gets the credit for beating a tune up opponent with a name...

at 130, and MAYBE 140... JMM is a MEGAMATCHUP and a SERIOUS threat to anyone...

at 143-145lbs... JMM is a TUNE UP... a SOLID tune up...

We don't really know how JMM is going to fight above 135. People can't assume he'll physically be able to climb up in weight and carry over his skills, power, and everything just because Manny did it.

What if Marquez just has a terrible outing against Floyd? It'll just open another can of worms and start threads on here about "JMM was too small" or "Floyd was just too big for JMM" or of course "Floyd secures his legacy!!!"

that's why this fight is kinda a hard sell

sure Marquez is recognized very highly on Pound For Pound lists

but how is he supposed to come across as a legit opponent at 140+ for Floyd when Juan Manuel is just establishing himself as a Lightweight (with the huge wins over Diaz and Casamayor).

and on top of that ^ JMM has yet to ever fight at 140.

He doesnt use physical advantages hes a slick counter puncher.

With a unreliable chin at 130 which has been rocked badly at 135.... at 147 it'll be glass.

Floyd should fight someone at welterweight, or move down to 130 or 135 to fight JMM.

JMM shouldn't need to move up - it's very weak on Floyd's part to demand that.

Not alwyas the case, sometimes fighters have to dehyrdrate to make a weight like that, when they no longer have to dehydrate, they may be a little slower at a higher weight, but they may be more stable on their feet...
