Dawson Hoping Hopkins is Next After Tarver Rematch

On May 9, IBF light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson makes his HBO debut in a rematch with Antonio Tarver at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Dawson dominated Tarver for twelve rounds last year and few fans are interested in a second fight, but there was a rematch clause in the fight contract for the fight meeting and Dawson is forced to honor it. I'm in two minds wither Dawson is ready for a fight with Hopkins? He shouldn't be overlooking Tarver though, but Dawson beat Tarver better then Hopkins did IMO. I reckon Dawson is probably the only fighter left out there who could beat Hopkins?

I like Dawson, his style and attitude impress me. He has a damn good resume for a guy with 27 fights. Calzaghe made it clear that he didn't want to fight him, and Hopkins has said the same. That speaks volumes IMO.

He;s doing the right things and letting people know he's there. Hopkins might have to fess up and fight him, or retire. He can't keep ignoring him like Calzaghe did.

Why Tarver get's a rematch in the first place bemuses me. Dawson schooled him in their first meeting that i see the second fight going to a stoppage in favour of Chad.

Dawson/Hopkins would be boring as hell, but it would determine just how good Dawson is. It is a fight that has to happen.

Tarver had a rematch clause in the contract. Dawson had to honour it and fight him again.

Tarver had a rematch clause,.... so this fight is unavoidable,.. but why does everybody from Paul Williams to Chad Dawson want Hopkins,.. that fight doesn't prove a thing,.. get in there with some of the other big boys Chad,.. get some Live Opposition..

Hopkins is very good fighting southpaws, look at his record. Hopkins does have a problem with speed. The pavlik fight was a no brainer for him, don't know if he is gonna accept dawson challenge. I think hopkins rather fight adamek which is much slower.
