If Mayweather is so small, why not fight JMM at 135-140?

Why do you have Cintron in your sig? That should be make you viable for banning.

I am a fan. Most people don't believe it, but I am a fan. But I am not a nuthugger. I had severely critized Kermit since he decided to fight Margarito the 2nd time. He has gotten sloppy and is ***** whinning a lot. I am not talking about the "crying", cause whomever followed Kermit's career can tell you he always cried after winning the fight, which he did before facing Tony.

If he had stayed shut up, ate his pride and follow Steward's advise, Kermit could had been a better fighter. What can I tell you..., as soon as I get a great JuanMa KO, I will probably change Kermit's KO; which you got to admit is a nasty one. I thought Kermit ripped Mathesse's head off that night...

Im sure floyd could manage a 150 or a bit above fight night too. Wasnt he 152 for de la hoya fight night? But the rules are the rules and everyone tries to play them as they see fit in order to maximise their chance at winning. I believe ive seen cotto weigh in at 155 fight night and i think ive heard he weighed 159 another time. Would a lower max weight limit fight night make it more likely that floyd would fight some of the other "true" welters? I dont know, how about someone asks him if he thinks about this kind of thing. Ive never heard floyd say i dont want to fight cotto (example) as he will be too heavy fight night. Im sure he couldnt say this even if he was thinking it. Remember sometimes the heavier you are the slower you are, relative to your height.

If for example floyd came in at 152 and another welter at 156, i personally dont think this is a problem. How far does the 156 stretch before it becomes an issue?

I'm in favor of him fighting Cotto and Shane. I still think there should be a cap on how much you can gain for fight-time. The thread I made dealt with this.

        Tyson was 5'11, 220, yet how many under 200 pound fighters are faster than him in his prime and how many at his height and weight have ever been that fast let alone his speed no matter what division? {percentage wise}
Was he slower at 20 when he was 222 for Berbick compared to when he was say, 15 years old, when he was a lower weight and smaller...sure, but he still had incredible speed that stuck with him for the most part.
Shane Mosley started out as a lightweight yet still had great speed when he was fighting Oscar at WW and still to this day, has nice speed despite the age and increased weight.
It depends on the limit of the body-frame and the genetics. Floyd seems to have slowed with the increased weight but he is still quite fast before he left.

If you put a cap on the weight you can gain from the division, say, 5 pounds max; I don't see anything wrong with that. 5 pounds should prevent a fight from being canceled but I'll have to go back to my thread for the full print out of what the rules could be set in..

If someone shows up 10 pounds more than you he can also use his extra weight to wrestle you and wear you down. He might even be more powerful with the extra weight. The dehydration-rehydration game also always fighters that should be MW to dehydrate down to WW and then show back up as MW (or higher) for fight-time. So now you can have a legit WW vs. a legit MW.

I'm looking at the Cotto vs. Clottey fight and I'm wondering: If Cotto shows up at 157 and Clottey shows up at 170 like he did against Chico, is that really fair given we have divisions and you should at least weigh closer to that division weight (if not at that weight)?
The upside for Cotto is that if Clottey doesn't rehydrate properly and eat easily digestible foods, he can find himself feeling sluggish for the fight.
But if he does it right and his body responds well, we will have another Gatti-Gamache disadvantage.

If PBF wasn't such a little ungrateful ***** a fight between JMM and PBF at 140lbs would had been announced and the world would had been eating biting their nails anxiously waiting for this match. But no, instead of showing the world that PBF is the best P4P by beating JMM at a weight worth respecting... he still bitching about the weight. I just wish PBF had a pair.

            Agree completely.

And I wish JMM would just refuse to fight him at 147 point blank. No one wants to watch a mis-match that one side organised.

JMM can weigh in at 141 and Floyd at 147. Fight night JMM adds like 5 pounds while PBF adds 1 or 2 pounds. JMM will be around 146 fight night while PBF will be 148. It’s a close fight size wise
              Can't answer the question eh?

              Typical.

So why did Castillo, Corrales, Guzman, etc have trouble dropping 3 pounds?

Fact speak louder than words. JMM didn't showed much ability when he went up in weight and fought Juan Diaz. But he knows it does matter. If he moves 9 pounds he might as well move 12, because he's still going to be too slow and will likely get tired during the fight. If it were for fans like you JMM would fight with one arm behind his back and you will still say its a fair fight.

I hope JMM does stand his ground. The bad part is that there are no other major opponents to offer a good pay check as fighting PBF. So JMM knows he doesn't have much time and would feel force to sign in order to get the money. JJM should just come out and publicly state how PBF is afraid to move down 7 pounds and face him. If he ever does, I would laugh my ass off just reading all sort of pathetic excuses PBF groopies will post in here.

BTW, what has pathetic Horus posted on this issue???
