If Mayweather is so small, why not fight JMM at 135-140?

        Neck: Rocky 16 1/2", Mayweather 16 1/2" JMM 16" Even

Chest (Normal): Rocky 39", Mayweather 38 1/2" JMM 41" JMM

Chest (Expanded): Rocky 42 Mayweather 39 1/2 JMM 44 JMM

        Biceps: Rocky 14", Mayweather 12 1/2" JMM 14" Even

Forearms: Rocky 12", Mayweather 11" Rocky JMM 12" Even

        Wrists: Rocky 7"", Mayweather 7" JMM 6 1/2" Even

        Fist: Rocky 11 1/2", Mayweather 8" JMM 11 1/2" Even

Waist: Rocky 32", Mayweather 31" JMM 29" Rocky

Thigh: Rocky 22", Mayweather 22" JMM 19" Even

        Calves: Rocky 14 1/2", Mayweather 15 JMM 13" PBF

So basically because they're dimensions are extremely similar they should all fight in the same weight class?

Correct and you would think Floyd knows his body better than we do.

LOL @ casual fans regarding the oh-so-popular, PPV king Juan Manuel Marquez as a great win.

A casual fan couldn't tell the difference between Juan Marquez and Juan Valdez. Man, the lengths we go to...

Pretty much, if this was same day weigh ins they would, basically these measurements tell me JMM should have moved up long ago and is probably killing himself fighting at those lower weights.

i think Mayweather's perfectly capable of cuttin down to 140 or a catchweight between LWW and WW, but he's just using his star power to stack the cards in his favour

call it what you want, cowardice, shrewdness, lack of self belief, whatever... but **** like this happens in boxing, but hopefully, come fight night it won't be too big a deal, as Floyd is not very big at WW anyway... he shouldn't be over 152lbs on the day

He's not killing himself to make weight at all, it usual for him to cut that weight. He could proberbly still make Jr. Lightweight if he wanted.

The difference between all these fighters is Floyd keeps himself in shape in between fights so he doesn't balloon up on the day. Which the the right way to do things but other fighters enjoy luxuries. If you asked Mayweather to go back down to lightweight he would be severely weight drained because he doesn't burn off fat to get down to 135 he'd be burning off solid muscle.

Marquez can cut weight easily because like him, Pacquiao and Hatton they all get fatter in between fights which means its much easier for them come training time to get down to the req. weight.

If Floyd is so little as you and others make him out to be, then it shouldn't be a problem making the fight at 140 but evidently it is.
Not sure what you didn't understand what I wrote.

I said Floyd was a LEGIT WW. It's the others that put on 10+ pounds that call themselves WW that are not. Floyd is fighting in the right division....although if he shows up at 149, he would be two pounds over so he will have to cut two pounds to be a legit WW/147 fighter.

Why have a fighter cut weight and then put it back on while allowing him to be a one or two, maybe three divisions above the weight/division he is supposed to be fighting at?

What is the difference between Floyd showing up at 147-149 by fight time and Pac showing up at 147 for Diaz?

And, who JMM will be fighting at JrWW?

Forget that this is even discussing Floyd....fighters in general. Floyd just seems to be the topic of discussion on these boards about this topic most of the time.

Unless youre in camp with him please dont say that, nothing bothers me more than when a poster answers for a fighter. JMM is big up top with skinny legs, reminds me of Vivian Harris, someone who is too big for 140.
