If Mayweather is so small, why not fight JMM at 135-140?

Even if he doesnt win, it may be about his showing thats most important.
Thats the kind of logic that would say,"Hagler isnt an ATG because he stayed at Middle, and didnt challenge his limitations".Its nonsense.Marquez is barely a lightweight and is only coming up for the money, and Mayweather isnt fighting at a reasonable weight because he doesnt want a level playing field.

You missed my point, never said staying at the sameweight and ruling wasnt great, all Im saying is overcoming limitations is a great thing.

I would be fine with 142-143 since its presumably harder to go back down in weight than to move up and be effective

Also, fighting Williams would be a great example of how Floyd could overcome his limitations.

It's my personal opinion, dude. At the end of the day PBF & JMM are the ones that decide how the fight will go on if it is ever signed. PBF wants it at 145-147lbs.

LOL you have got a point here at this stage. Its getting a bit rediculous. In my mind if hes not a welter then he shouldnt be insisting about guys fighting him at 147. There is only one conclusion -- he is a welter, not a big welter, but a welter. Just a thought, there have been lots of guys considered "small" at their weight class who have more then held their own and some have dominated their class for years, they actually get more credit for being "small" in their class but only if they beat their peers at that class.

Someone said that the really top guys should be able to handle 1 weight class from where they are at the moment. So, that means that if floyd is "really" a light welter, then he should be able to "handle" welter. Doesnt it?

I dont think he can make 135 anymore, but I think he can pull off 140...
