Who's to say he wont eventually fight the best as you say it, by the way who is the best youre referring to at welterweight. And in your opinion who should Floyd be fighting July 18 if thats the date he will fight.

My argument is that it's nothing more...just like Floyd's last few wins which have garned him countless dollars and Johnny Come-Lately fans. But...also like his last few wins, they don't do much for his legacy.

Kinda sad how when Floyd did most of his great work (130 & 135), he was barely known and at 140 & 147 - where he's been BS'ing to get that paper - he has countless newbies ready to defend his honor for his underwhelming choice of opposition.

Thats just how it is, everybody fights hard fights to GET to the top, when youre at the top, its more about making money. Makes perfect sense to me, in the real world you start off at the bottom, the less paying jobs are always more physically taxing, its the desk jobs that pay more. Ricky has his(Tsyzu), Floyd has had his, Roy had his, once youre at the top you pretty much call the shots. But Floyd has been off for one and a half years, I dont expect him to jump right into the frying pan his first fight off, nobody should expect that.

Youre right its not a legacy builder for us hardcore fans, but when a casual fan looks at the record ten years from now all he will see is the name JMM and in that casual fans eyes it will mean more to them.

Well good for them. Then again, these same casual fans think Mike Tyson was the greatest HW ever and Arturo Gatti the greatest lightweight. In other words, let's stick to the hardcore ones who know what they're talking about. Besides, casual fans usually aren't that familiar with Marquez .
