he definitely didn't suck. he would have given a lot of 130 pounders trouble. awkward at times, but a good boxer-puncher overall. decent defense when he remembered to use it.

best quote regarding freitas i ever read was, "he has shown a general reluctance to be a warrior." that pretty much sums it up for me.

he went out trying dude, they knew he was done before that but he still tried thats why they carried him around the ring. hes last fight hes last time being in the ring wouldn u wanna be carried around?

      PHP Code:
I remember going to see him at the UIC Pavillion in Chicago when he fought Ranchero Ramirez in 2003

It was a really electric atmosphere
and the Brazilian fans were going crazy.
Popo went down in the second then got up and proceeded to batter Ramirez from pillar to postHe ko'ed Ramirez early.

He was heavy handed and quick and very unorthodox. He just seemed like a buzzsaw back in 2003, just relentless and a big big puncher.

In his prime he was an exciting guy and I enjoyed his fights immensly.
He had another great fight with Barrios in which he went down again but ko'
ed Barrios in the 12th in a barnburnerFreitas fought a weird unorthodox fight as was his trademark.

PersonallyI think when he got some money and famehe got less hungry but seeing him live was very enjoyable
yea dude i saw that fight, i think hes mistake was going up in weight.

The irony of Freitas is that he came off the deck more than once to win, so in the early days he was a huge warrior.

I think that's what made it worse when he gave up, because he was known to be in wars and gut it out.

Money and fame made him soft.

He was a good fighter, but I think once he quit against Corrales it was all over. He didnt look good against Raheem and wanted out after 5 against Diaz.

A natural born quitter who quit on more than one occasion. When he wasnt quitting he was running(See Corrales fight).

nah, the beginning of the end was the barrios fight. after that his technique went to crap

He didnt look good against Raheem and wanted out after 5 against Diaz.
he was past his prime by then. the barrios fight took something out of hiim
