So Tarver, Pavlik, Wright came from Welterweight. Guess I learned something new today.

In response to the thread subject, Pacquiao's resume(name-wise) is top 10 one of the best out there from active fighters.

Hopkins lost most fights he had against opponents from his natural weight.
In the Winky fight Winky got robbed. De La Hoya, Trinidad, Pavlik, even Winky were all coming up in weight where they weren't in their best shape.
Hopkins lost to Calzaghe, Taylor(2) and a younger Roy Jones.
Now Mayweather is trying to do the same by beefing up his record by fighting fighters moving up to face him.

I agree with your post. But wasn't he the underdog against Tarver and Pavlik?
And something like 17 out 20 Ring experts predicted Pavlik to KO Hopkins.
I remember him being the underdog in the Trinidad fight so you're right in that being 1 of his best wins.
BTW, Tarver was the number 1 Light Heavyweight when Hopkins fought him if i'm not mistaken.

It's weird though, as big as Hopkins is, you see how many times he is the underdog? even against former WW. Hopkins is always doubted but he always comes through for the critics and then he is dissed about facing smaller opponents after he was a clear underdog before fighting them.

Sorry about getting off the thread sub.

But Mayweather went up to fight De La Hoya at 154? Hopkins losses to Calzaghe and Taylor are very controversial but i see what you are saying though, Maybe Hopkins ends his career by fighting a natural Lightheavy like Dawson.

if pac destroys hatton he is an all time great
usually when a fighter moves up he wins on points or
squeaks a decision but pac moves up and annihilates de la hoya
you have to count that for something
