Come on. There is a difference. He was using his elbows to push off.

They both did illegal things and using elbows to push off is as illegal as holding.

Neither is really done much about though.

I won't say it changed the result, all the same.

yeah, but floyd wouldn't have to use elbows and forearms if hatton wasn't hugging and holding, that was my point.

the hugging and holding preceeds and is the cause of the elbows and forearms

good strategy by mayweather. hatton basically walked into his elbows
whilst trying to hug ... then he goes blames a top ref like cortez
              go figure

                I am not offended...

                It's offense (not offence)

Question is simple.... Why Ricky complains the way Joe handled the fight?

Listen, fighters have different styles, and Ricky Hatton's style is to get inside and bully you around. Nothing dirty about it, it's why people love Ricky Hatton, he's a throwback fighter.

I don't take anything away from Manny Pacquiao. He's a great fighter and without a doubt P4P #1.

That being said, he is still untested at these higher weights and we haven't really seen him take any substantial shots at that weight. Even at 135, he fought a miserable title holder in David Diaz. Then he fights a weight drained (that is fact, came right from Freddie Roach's mouth) past his prime De La Hoya. Even still, I give him credit, he looked amazing in both those fights.

But to just say Hatton has no shot in this fight is arrogant and pretty ignorant if you ask me. He's held down 140 for years now and has one loss to the greatest fighter in the last fifteen years. So pay your respects. This guy didn't get here because of hometown decisions and hugging. He got it from hardwork and dedication, just like Manny Pacquiao.

May 2nd will be a great night. Two classy warriors going at it with all the cultural fixings. If from now until then, if this is the type of stuff you're going to be posting, do us a favor and keep it to yourself.

Actually it's either, offence is uk spelling, offense is US spelling, both are equally correct.

                    of⋅fense   /əˈfɛns or, for 7–9, ˈɔfɛns, ˈɒfɛns/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [uh-fens or, for 7–9, aw-fens, of-ens] Show IPA
–noun 1. a violation or breaking of a social or moral rule; transgression; sin.
                    2. a transgression of the law; misdemeanor.
                    3. a cause of transgression or wrong.
                    4. something that offends or displeases.
                    5. the act of offending or displeasing.
                    6. the feeling of resentful displeasure caused: to give offense.
                    7. the act of attacking; attack or assault: weapons of offense.
                    8. a person, army, etc., that is attacking.
                    9. Sports. a. the players or team unit responsible for attacking or scoring in a game.
                    b. the players possessing or controlling the ball, puck, etc., or the aspects or period of a game when this obtains.
                    c. a pattern or style of scoring attack: single-wing offense; fast-break offense.
                    d. offensive effectiveness; ability to score: a total breakdown in offense.

                    10. Archaic. injury, harm, or hurt.

                    Also, offence.

And the reason he complained was because Cortez's officiating was a joke, especially the point deduction which could have gone the other way because you are not allowed to turn you back on an opponent.

Would a different ref have changed the result? no of course not, PBF was on another level to hatton but it would have changed the fight yes.

still doesn't make Cortez's officiating any better or more justified.
