cheers, mate.
Hmmm, I can't really make judgement considering I ain't seen much of them. Quintero is of a similar style to Pac and is pretty quick. I would say, though, that Hatton is mixing it up well with speed and power, and so I think overall the choice of sparring partners is pretty good.
18 more days to go!!
But the hype that you've been saying lately that Hatton's sparring partners are bigger than Manny's is apparently just a myth. Imagine if these small guys can do that much damage on Ricky with head gears on, imagine what Pacman can do to him? Last I heard, that Pacman guy ain't too shabby either, compared to Ricky's playmates when it comes to boxing...Comment

Who cares? It's sparring, not fighting. In the gym you're not going all out trying to bomb your guy out, you're working on getting your timing and rhythm together. Cornelius Lock is a very skilled fighter who works with Roger Mayweather and Quintero is headlining a Shobox coming up. Those are good fighters.Aside from Jr. middleweight Erislandy Lara who everybody else knows, here's the other four lesser lights. They are all southpaws btw, just like Lara...
Light welterweight Cleotis Pendarvis (9-1-2, 3 KOs). His only loss was a knockout in the 1st round.
Superfeatherweight Marvin Quintero (15-1, 12 KOs). Just like Pendarvis, his lone loss was a 1st round KO too.
Lightweight Daniel Mitchell (5-0-1, 2 KOs)
Superfeatherweight Cornelius Lock (18-3-1, 11 KOs). All of Lock's 3 losses are KOs.
I've seen a few Hatton fans here singing praises and hallelujahs like Hatton was working out with only Jr. welter and welterweights. They even said that it was good to hear that Hatton is having a great training camp, and he got nicks and bruises to show for that, not unlike Manny, who's having his way against featherweights and lightweights.
Now tell me, are these better sparring partners than Pacman's sparring partners?
I've seen guys spar nothing but amateurs and win world titles so it doesn't mean a thing.Comment

lol Ryan! You should be checking here more often! You've been missing a lot obviously! The Hatton fans are dissing Pacman because he's sparring with small guys and having his way. They said that Ricky is up against the big boys, that's why he's sporting a couple of shiners nowadays.
You're waaay off here Asian Sensation!Comment

Has Pac been sparring with light middleweights? Anyway, we don't know if it was the smaller guys that marked up Ricky. For all we know, Lara could have landed some heavy shots and being the bigger guy, marked Hatton up.But the hype that you've been saying lately that Hatton's sparring partners are bigger than Manny's is apparently just a myth. Sky Sports in the UK will be doing a diary coverage of Hatton's training so far, next week, and so we should know more then.
For the record, though, Pac's sparring mates are no worse or no better than Hatton's, so yes, my criticisms were a little misguided.Comment
