Neither won, that fight of course youll say Oscar won, so forget about the matter.

Officialy Tito won, and that fight propel him to bigger fights.

    I got ya bro.

I'm actually surprised not that many people are putting Whitaker up there, especially with the way he dominated that fight.

Just top 3 win's in general. Or top 3 performance's?

If Just Top 3 wins it would be
      1.Oscar De La Hoya
      2.Fernando Vargas
      3.Pernell Whitaker/David Reid

          Vargas
          Joppy
          Whitaker

Even though im a big Tito fan im not gonna use the DLH fight. Just as i tend not to use the Sturm fight in favour of Oscar etc.

I have to dissagree, I think Oscar won 8 rounds easily. He was boxing, which is what he should have been doing. He was beating tito and then decided to stay away the last 3-4 rounds and that cost him the fight.

I don't think that it should have cost him the fight, especially when you are the champ. To become the champ you need to beat the champ and Tito never did that.

Was done is done but that was one of the worst decisions I can remember.

they were both champ at that time. that's why tito won because DLH ran the last 3 rds. for me it was a pretty close fight but the diff was the last rds.

That's fine, I would have been satisfied with a draw but to say Tito won is insane.

DLH outboxed and outclassed Tito that night and Tito's reaction to the decision says it all. He looks like he won the lotery when he heard the decision.

and that's ur opinion and i respect it. but three people saw tito win and that's what count on the books.

remember that every judge see something diff when doing the work. some like speed, some offensive or other things. that night tito won because he was the aggresive fighter and DLH was the boxer. maybe with other judges the result would have been diff

Tito's reaction? how many fighters have that reaction when they know the fight is close? does that automatically give us a right to assume that they only reacting like that because they really felt they lost? Timothy Bradley cried even threw his interview, is that to suggest that he somehow knew he didn't deserve the win as you're trying to implicate on Tito? I'm curious..

another thing is that people were already catching on to that whole fake flurry **** De La Hoya does where he throws 10 punches and only 1 lands but since he made the sound effects with his mouth and made each shot LOOK as if it landed he gets credit, that's what he did to many of his opponents and that don't score points, Trinidad in the long run scored enough points from the earlier rounds to solidify his lead and he didn't win by much but to discredit Tito for that loss is to discredit Mayweather against Castillo..

also what I really hate about not just this message board but MOST of them is that you'll have a fan saying "De La Hoya should've won" but they have De La Hoya pictures all over the place, u can't help but think they are speaking biased because what a coincidence that the man you said should have won is in your avatar, you're obviously a fan of his. it just waters own the overall mutual respect from member to member because you're talking mainly to a fan and not knowledgeable person. all that I personally can say on the matter is that that's a fight where a winner and a loser must be decided and the winner can't be the runner because in this sport runners RARELY ever win regardless of name and face

Edit: and to co-operate with the point of the thread well I'd say..

                      Whitaker
                      DLH
                      Reid
