It was a mistake having the fight at Vegas. If you look at most all fights this year, they have been non-Vegas venues and they've been selling well.

My understanding is Winky demanded the fight be at Vegas though, for whatever reason.

The ONLY fights that will sell well in Vegas right now are the super starts, like Pacquiao, Mayweather, etc. That's about it.

it is what it is..!! other guys would have sell...!

williams should keep moving in that direction and facing just the best of the best.. and for get about moving down.. .he can manage him self to be a 4 division champ...

he's only 2 belts away.. and after last night... his workrate can earn him a belt @ 160 and who knows if 168

thats the best paul williams i have ever seen...

healthly... great stamina...he has improve a lot!! but that had to do with not having trouble making the 160!!

The crowd did seem to be dull, and it didn't look that packed either. They darkened some of the arena out to hide the empty seats.

It would be hard to think that was the same arena were De La Hoya/Mayweather fought at. Because when Wright and Williams were fighitng it looked dull and was very dark, the total opposite to Mayweather/De La Hoya and other big fights at the MGM.

And the few ppl there were chanting for Winky.

This stuff is very relevant, I mean in a perfect world I would only care about the fights to, but the more evident it becomes that Williams isn't a draw, the more likely people are to not fight him.

For better or worse, this stuff is very, very relevant.

but according to some ...... im just hating!!!

i mean.. i love william.. hes the only guy outhere climbing his mountain all by him self..!! and still nobody gives a f u c k!!!! our loved sport needs guys like him!! but also needs guys who can atract the casual fans.. and obviously williams is not the one...

still like i say. if i was william.. i wouldnt give a fu ck about the 147 or 154.. i would just manage my self to be a 4 division champ at least!! and hes only 2 belts away... hes not a 147 fighter!!

          hes bigger than that!!!

but like i said... it seems like im just hating!!

Actually that's just not true. Besides the superstars, no one is selling out venues in Vegas, it's just the way of the times. Look at all the fights in 2009. Name the ones that were in Vegas??? Besides Pacquiao/Hatton coming up, there are hardly any fights in Vegas at all because no one is in Vegas! That's why all the fights are in non-Vegas locations because it's the only way guys are selling tickets

natas i know what u mean!! and you are right!!

what im trying to say.. is that paul williams.. was there with a BIG NAME who is a non draw.. and for me that was a good measure stick to see if williams have what it takes to bring some ppl into his fights....

and it didnt happen... yeahh.. i know it was in las vegas and the economy ****.... but damnn.. they were chanting for WINKYYYYYYYY...can you beleive that?? you have a great kid in awsome shape... giving a boxing lesson to a legend.. and ppl just didnt give a f uck.. they were chanting for WINKY

we can realize that common ppl are not just into the williams bandwagon.. for any reason... they dont give a **** a bout him! just hardcore boxing fans..!

he should work on that... do more charity ... be in the dancing with the star some **** like that.. so he can get the exposure and spotlight he deserve... cos.. just by challenging the best.. and beating them.. is not being enough...

and at the end.. what he wants besides a good boxing legacy.. is money... and it seems like williams opponents are not the only ones who are running away from him... money 2.. is also running away from him....

if he steps up with another big name!! and keeps blowing the competition away.. sooner or later hes gonna get his respect and his big paydays!!

but last night was a good example of what is a very well known SECRET, he just doesnt sell.

if he wants to change that.. he needs to work OUTSIDE THE RING!!! to make him more marketable

plus... margie vs shane.. wasnt @ vegas... but it was in the west.... and the difference was just amazing..

Fcat is, attendences and buy rates do matter. How else can boxing support itself if nobody is watching?

it shouldnt be that way!! but thats how it is!!!

he needs some work on his image!!!!! thats all what he needs!!

                    thats my humble oppinion...

i dont want you guys to think that im hating on williams.. cos is all the opposite.. i love the guy and i want him to get better and look better!! in all aspect!!

in my humble oppinion williams needs to work on his image... and start aiming at some big GOAL and focus on bigger things... like being a 4 division champ..

going up and down cant hurt him... and its obvious that @ 147 none big name is gonna give him a chance to shine!!!!

hes bigger than just a big fight @ 147 this kid is special.!!

The whole thing about Williams not being a draw is kind of important but HBO seems to like being in the Paul Williams business, aslong as HBO wants to show Paul Williams fights there is money behind him.
