It's not always about how many miles you run. If you are tight in the ring then you'll tire quick. Williams just fights so loose that he doesn't waste any energy.

Jeff Lacy claims to do the same amount, I read it on his blog years ago. 7 miles a day is not that difficult for a pro boxer. Might however be difficult for Arreola, or Eddie Chambers to achieve yet I believe both of them even claim to run about 6-7 miles a day aswell. Don't ask me why they're fat though

i dont think it matters how far you run but how hard and how quick you run, covering the distance in a quicker time is what most boxers strive to do. i think it also depends on the boxers and their style:

CALZAGHE - joe would never set his feet and punch (partly because of his fragile hands) he would always be moving, feinting, dartin and out thats why his long distance running in the welsh hills with the fresh air did him a world of good for his style.

HAYE - haye is a completely different fighter, he loves to set his feet and throw power punches, hes not someone who is constantly moving and pumping the jab, his boxing is more based on power and explosiveness. therefore his roadwork is based on sprints, explosiveness i heard that he has a programme in which he fully sprints 100 metres 100 times with small rests in between. his training regime is focussed around explosiveness and speed.

just out of curiosity for anyone who studies sport science, which one is better - if you asked joe to fight like haye and you asked haye to fight like joe whch boxer would be more successful? (ignore the fact that joe has brittle hands)?

7 miles to a guy who has huge legs is only like 5 miles. That's fact.
